Vs 2022 community is no longer available. The current version is vs 2026 community. Vs 2022 is only available as a paid version now.

I'm starting university studies and we were told to get Visual Studio Community for studies, though I have Visual Studio 2022 installed and I actively worked with it when studying (before uni started).
What is the difference between Visual Studio and Visual Studio Community?
Is there any aspect of Visual Studio Community that I might be missing if I use just Visual Studio 2022?

Visual Studio Community is the free edition of Visual Studio. If you’ve not paid for a licence, or on a trial, you’re using Visual Studio Community. Go to Help > About and it will show you licensing information. More info on the different editions: https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/compare/

Their was a few things like memory profilers but they have since come into community. But community has a market cap values on what you can earn of products can’t remember exact value if has to be over a million dollars pounds. Then you need the professional and for corperates you need enterprise but you should also mention their is alternatives like rider. But the issue with jetbrains rider is u dont get microsoft support which you do depending on what pro enterprise options you go with.
