I don't mean to have an unpopular opinion, but did anyone else think it was eh at best? I found it to be fantastically lack luster with no real development of the characters. There was no exposition and there was very little understanding of the major plot points. The acting seemed to be at ends with what the script said a couple times and it didn't feel like a real movie. I thought some of the scenes were beautifully shot and as far as artistic portrayal goes it was nice. I dunno, for me and my roommates, we wanted it to be less film art and more storytelling. Just my $. 02

I watched it last night and enjoyed it! The cinematography was nice indeed. I also enjoyed the creepiness/dread type of scare it gave rather than relying on jump scares. There were somethings that I found predictable, but I think that only added to the sense of dread. I didn't realize it was inspired by older cinema, but now that you mention it I can definitely see the influence. The little breaks of comedy were great, too. I'm glad some posted more about this movie! Looking forward to more discussion. More on reddit.com
