There are some GPUs on Newegg that are refurbished that are decently priced. Does anyone have experience buying a refurbished gpu? I’ve only ever bought gpus brand new or sometimes used from hardwareswap.
Hello everyone first time checking this sub out, and it has some pretty mixed views about Newegg. In my personal experience I have ordered a multitude of things from Newegg and have luckily been blessed to never have had any issues … when buying things new that is. I did however want to put them to the test lol.
So, I’ve purchased a referb 3090 sold and shipped from Newegg for about 750 dollars. In my head im thinking this is a steal, all while they’re ready to possibly steal my money 😂. Knowing That this is possibly gonna be a shit show I happily want to bring you all along with me as this madness unfolds.
If the card is in a working condition, with good tests and temps. I’ll praise them for their good doing. If not I’ll be taking you along with me as I try to get my money back through their customer service.
Note that after I bought my referb Msi 3090 gaming x trio, they had shown they were sold out of them, so that tells me they wouldn’t be able to replace it with another one, so I’m assuming they would have to give me a full refund back if anything ending up being wrong with the card.
I’ll keep you all updated as I wait for the card to arrive.
Update: My package came about 3 days earlier And the gpu in question seemed to be in brand new condition. Looks like Someone opened the box and put it back after testing it. The 3090 still had the factory seal screw untouched as well. When I ran the pcbenchmark tests (ran 5 times) the gpu performance was running above expectations at 220%. I don’t think I’ll be over clocking this bad boy either.
Overall my experience was just as good as all of my other experiences and Newegg as yet to let me down. If the gpu dies on me in the coming months I’ll give another update to the post.
Update 2: Hello everyone who read the first part of my post, thought I’d give an update to the whole graphics card thing. So far nothing to update you guys on tbh. I’ve been using the day in and day out on all my games that I play on max settings (cyberpunk, smite, baldur’s gate 3, starfield, etc) and this gpu has not disappointed. So far I am extremely happy with my purchase and have no complaints. Did a benchmark today and the results were pretty much identical from when I first got it so nothing to update you on there. I’ll probably shoot another update in two or three months ,or if anything happens to the gpu a bit earlier on.
Until then, thanks for reading.
Update one TLDR: gpu came in good shape with almost brand new condition, and did amazing on benchmarks.
Update two TLDR: Gpu is still a beast.
Edit: update/ update number 2 added tldr to updates
I am planning on building a new pc bow that my old one has a decent chunk of years under its belt. I would like to save some money on the GPU and noticed some refurbished options on Newegg.
I found one gigabyte 3070 ti that is refurbished for a great price and will ship from somewhere in the united states (no over seas headaches).
Does anyone have experience with these refurbished parts specifically GPUs?
I know there was a thread on this before, but it is quite dated.
Looking at getting a refurb'd MSI Radeon 580, it's half the price of a new one. Anyone else bought refurb'd from Newegg? Any complaints?
You can only find these used right now. And this would be perfect for my case.
Has anyone ever bought a refurbished GPU from Newegg?
I am planning to get a refubished gpu from newegg but im not sure if it is safe and worth the money. Should I use newegg to buy refurbished gpus?
I'm currently trying to find a nice budget gpu for my first ever PC build, and on Newegg I see a refurbished 1660 Super for about 140. It says it's sold and shipped by Newegg, but I'm not sure if they themselves have a good reputation when it comes to refurbishing components.
I was browsing graphics card prices today and found a really good price for a card I want on Newegg. The problem is that I’m worried the card won’t work/be damaged on arrival since the provider is some company I’ve never heard of and there are no reviews anywhere about them. Thoughts?
I bought a refurbished Gigabyte Radeon rx 580 for 90 bucks. I've been building a PC for 3 years (I'm a minor) and almost have it done. I got it and brought it into my I.T lab at school to test it. Turns out: DVI doesn't work HDMI doesn't work Missing metal backplate Missing RGB logos The ROM chip is fried. The PC only detects it half the time. Newegg won't accept a return or replacement.
What do I do?? I have a 100 dollar brick. Can I just force it to display through the GPU bypassing the ROM issues?
Hi guys I purchased this 7900xt off is Newegg and it was a decent deal.
I didn’t come with an official box and there’s some cosmetic damage to the back plate, aside from a small amount of wear on the pcie contacts it seems okay. What would you guys do? Would you return it and wait for 9070xt or just be happy with this? I have no way to test it until I purchase a power supply which I intend on doing soon.
I’ll attach some pictures
I am in the market currently for a used 1070/1080 and was wondering if anyone has dealt with Neweggs refurbished GPU's on Ebay. My question is were they defective gpus that have been put back in working order or just returned ones that have been placed back on the market. Does anyone have any gripes about performance and longevity with these cards? I was mainly looking at this one. Thanks in advance for the help.
Like the title says, I want to know how's newegg refurbished going for anyone with experience. Im eyeing a gpu card that's going for way cheaper because of the newegg refurbished. So i'm curious to know is the refurbish work done really quality? any after troubles? return hassles, support problems. Missing parts/accessories. If you have or know anything on newegg refurbished gpus specifically. I want to hear it. Thanks!
I'm looking to buy the 5700x3d and the only places I can find them are on amazon and Newegg (Canada). The one on amazon is 380 cad and the one on Newegg is 400 cad so I'm wondering which ones safer to buy. The other option for the cpu is the 5800x3d its about 250 dollars more so I would much rather buy the 5700x3d.
I've been looking for an upgrade to my 6gb 1060 of late, which has been showing some age in terms of vr games, and have landed on looking for a 3070. I've been stalking around various sites, and would like to have a card that has a nice long lifespan. On NewEgg I saw the site has site certified refurb cards, and usually with a considerable price reduction attached to them that most certainly draws the eye, as in that price range, its over 150+ more to buy a brand new 3070 of a worse model. EX:base item price, sold and shipped refurb price, closest price to the refurb selling new
Opinions on this ? anyone use it, good or bad stories? the reviews look pretty solid on site, at least for the ones that exclusively go through Neweggs own refurb process and shipping. Just wondering a community opinion, because I have about 460 bucks saved right now, and it would take a fair while to amp that up for a brand new card like the zotac one.
I am looking for GPUs with USB-C since I have a portable monitor here that I want to use. Newegg has a GPU model (below) that is Open Box as well as Refurbished. I think Open Box means customer's return? Or maybe Newegg works with the manufacturer to sell them? And are Refurbished mean customers' trade-in? Open Box has a shorter 30 days Return Period and Refurbished have 90 days Return Period. Enough time to test them out. So what are the differences and why the difference in Return Period? Do Open Box GPUs have warranty at all? Thanks.

My 6700 XT gave out recently and I came across a refurbished 3070 (which is a big upgrade) on Newegg for only $270. Is it safe to pull the trigger on this? What is the catch?
So if you purchase a returned or refurbished video card from an online store such as Amazon or Newegg do you have any kind of manufacturers warranty? Or do brands or manufacturers not give warranties out for refurbished or returned GPU's? Asking because I would like to save some money on an RTX 4090 and have noticed that returned ones pop up on Amazon and I have also noticed a few popup on Newegg usually refurbished ones, so my question is do I have any warranty on these cards?
