the Baseline compression system is not "better" than the ZDX. Its just DIFFERENT. I have the 22 ZDX and i feel the zipper expansion is much much more reliable than the one on Baseline. the CX expansion system has it own set of issues if you read the reviews. Yes the Baseline material is tougher than the ZDX, but its not like the ZDX material is gonna rip on you or something... Its still a very tough material. B&R is not gonna make suitcase with inferior material, charge you $500 and give you lifetime warranty. The material is still comparable to most suitcases available out there. And if it does rip, you send it back. Sole reason I got the ZDX is because it has a higher capacity than the Baseline. 5 liters more! Yes, 5 liters. Thats like 2 extra outfits i can jam into the ZDX that i couldnt have with the Baseline. So its pretty significant for me. You can use those 5 liters for a separate garment folder. For comparison sake. I use to own the Travel Pro Elite. I did a MAX capacity comparison with both fully expanded. TLDR, I managed to fit an extra 4 hoodies, like winter hoodies, size men Large, into the ZDX over the Elite. And the ZDX zipped all the way around with minimal effort. I seriously think i coulda fit one more hoodie in there if i wanted to. I didnt bother trying to because at that point, i was already sold on the ZDX over my Travelpro. I cant even get the Elite's cover lid halfway closed with the hoodies in them. More on reddit.com

I have the two wheel Baseline 22 and the TP Elite 25" Spinner. The Briggs is undoubtedly the better bag. But unless you're going to be on an airplane every week for the next 10 years I'd get the TravelPro. The Briggs is a bag that will last you the rest of your life with normal use, but the TravelPro is well built, also likely to last a long time, and you can get two of them for the same price. Or a 22" and a 25". If you're really going to be using it 20 weeks a year the Briggs is worth the money. Otherwise probably not. More on reddit.com
