Briggs & Riley Carry-On Suitcase questions... ZDX vs Baseline / Costco etc.
Another Travelpro platinum Elite vs Briggs & Riley ZDX.
Wanting to switch to softside carry on - Travelpro or Briggs & Riley
Nordstrom Rack’s TravelPro PilotAir 2 & the Maxlite 5
hi all, I am in the market for a new suitcase. I have been debating hardshell vs. soft and its a toss up but I think soft is the direction I am headed. I was all set to get the Briggs & Riley ZDX but then read reviews on the Baseline and thought I would spend the extra money for that. I do travel with a lot of dresses so I thought the internal garment folder would be very useful.
I have a Costco card and went on to the Costco next site. Unfortunately they do not have the Baseline. They do have the ZDX - it is offered in red only which is not a color on the regular B&R website. It does show up on Nordstrom in red though... Costco price is $380. Nordstrom price is $459 for red and $499 for the other colors. B&R is $499. Seems like maybe the red is an older model?
So my question... With the baseline costing $699, is it substantially better than the Costco ZDX at $380? Could you justify that price difference? I am not particularly cost sensitive - I am using a 25 year old LL Bean bag that is pretty terrible and ugly as sin. I just don't want to make a mistake. I go on 8-12 trips per year and want to love what I decide on. Capacity, sturdy non-wobbly handle, compression, organization features, nice spinning functional wheels and looks are all important to me.
Should I be looking at other brands? Tumi?
Open to all opinions - thank you so much.
