More empty store fronts than ever. I hope it's only temporary. The aisles are also filled with many cubicle businesses.
It's good to see that all the store fronts are marked with names of the incoming tenants..bigger businesses than the ones that held the spot before. So there is hope.
Brea mall us such a busy mall..surprised to see the vacancies
But maybe it's planned turnover.
When the new area opens..it should bring in lots of people.

There’s some big additions planned for Brea mall: Zara, Uniqlo, Din Tai Fung, the Alley (boba tea)… I feel like Brea mall is one of the few malls that is still surviving.

The vacancies are for 3 reasons: -Some of the businesses like Forever21 are bankrupt so closed their stores nationwide. -Some are moving to the new outdoor section (Lululemon, Pottery Barn, etc.) and new retail replacing their old spot (H&M replacing F21 location). -They are making one wing more child-friendly (arcades, new chuck e cheese, claw games, etc.) so stores are shuffling around. Brea Mall is not dying at all, Simon invested $500 million into it and plans to upgrade it from a B-Mall to an A-Mall. It is one of 2 malls they've invested in on the entire west coast.
