Used Steelcase or Herman Miller if you live near a decent sized urban center. You can’t go wrong with any in their line up, it really just comes down to personal preference. If they have a store near you it’s a great place to try them out.

I spend 8 hours a day sitting at my desk and I'm looking to invest in a proper ergonomic chair. My budget is above average. I'm willing to pay for quality, but I want to make sure it's worth it.
My main concern is my size: I have a smaller frame, and I'm terrified of ordering an expensive chair online only to find out it's too big for me or the seat depth is too long.
I’ve been browsing online and I'm really confused by the pricing. I see high-end brands selling chairs for $1000+, and then I see "dupes" on Amz or other sites for $100-$150 that look almost identical.
Is there actually a massive difference in build quality or comfort between the high-end ones and the cheaper lookalikes? Or is it mostly just branding? I don't want to overspend, but I also don't want to buy a cheap chair that will break my back in 6 months.
