This is the first time I’m getting a return refund from the state (PA) since I paid estimated taxes due to a rental property sale in 2023.
Refund amount is around $5k.
Taxes were filed electronically with TurboTax mid-February. I got my federal refund last week already, but no sign of my state refund.
Anyone know what the usual or expected timeline is for a Pa state tax refund?
Anyone have any insight on when to expect or how long to expect it to take to receive deposits for PA state refund?
MyPath has shown mine as processed for a bit now, should be a direct deposit, which in theory should make it faster. In a tight spot and that refund would truly help. Unfortunately we aren't given much info in PA other than "sit and wait", any insights?
Does anyone know what the deal is with the Department of Revenue and why they now require "12 to 16 weeks" to process a refund from an e-filed return filed early in the filing season (first half of February)? I got my IRS refund literally in 10 days...but PA needs 12 to 16 weeks. And my experience the last several years is that they are taking the full 16 weeks.
They used to be fairly prompt, but the last few years it's gotten really bad. It's also frustrating because I have no option to reduce my withholding. I always get a refund but I'm forced to wait for now, 4 months, because they need time to conduct a "routine review".
