March 4, 2021 - Cypress seems to be approximating Selenium speed in longer suites, which are the norm in E2E testing. It remains to be seen whether very long-running suites could see Cypress climb up the ranking. Puppeteer’s advantage over Playwright in short tests does not translate to longer executions.

Selenium was close behind at 4.590 seconds, followed by Puppeteer with an average of 4.784 seconds. Cypress was the slowest, averaging 9.378 seconds, which is more than double the execution time of Playwright.
