From Python version 2.6 on you can use multiple arguments to set.intersection(), like

Copyu = set.intersection(s1, s2, s3)

If the sets are in a list, this translates to:

Copyu = set.intersection(*setlist)

where *a_list is list expansion

Note that set.intersection is not a static method, but this uses the functional notation to apply intersection of the first set with the rest of the list. So if the argument list is empty this will fail.

intersection is a function that’s called on an object(sets are a common one); and isn’t a built in syntactical token.& is a built in operator. For the latter to work __and__ or __rand__ must be implemented on one of the objects. Functionally they do(in the general case) find the intersection of two values, & being common for things such as ints; e.g. returning a new values where every set bit are bits set in both of the operands. That said, yes, there is a difference between the two. They execute completely different code, so you should never assume they do the same thing.
