I just started on my yoga practice a few weeks ago and am surprised by how much I enjoy it. I am just doing daily YouTube videos, mainly with Adriene and Cassandra. I especially love Yin yoga. I do a video in the morning but then I often find myself wanting to spend a couple more minutes later in the day doing child's pose, or a twist, just because they feel so good. Often while I am laying in bed I will do a pose for a while. My question is; is it not advisable to do poses when you aren't warmed up or as part of a greater sequence? Do you still get all the benefits that you would doing them as part of a routine? And do you think the cumulative benefits of doing random poses here and there can add up to something substantial over time? I definitely plan on continuing with my actual dedicated yoga sessions too.
Sorry if this is a silly noob question. Thank you in advance.
I recently started with yoga, to increase my flexibility and to fight my back pain. In general I'm really sporty, but I absolutely can't to the wheel pose. I feel like neither my wrists nor my back is flexible enough for this. How can I get there? Are there other exercises that I can do to work up to wheel pose?
