I think I found a solution, at least it worked for me. I went into control panel and wanted to uninstall chroma but razer app popped up and it asked me if I want to repair their apps or just to delete them. So I did in exactly in that order: Uninstalled chroma app Repaired Razer Synapse Installed chroma app again, but no through the instalator downloaded before but just through the same pop-up I did uninstalling and repairing with and it somehow worked

I agree….I’m having the problem since the update this month with the Razer Chroma RGB ‘fail to start’ message when opening the app. I hit the ‘Retry’ tab and it recycle back to the same screen. Razer fix your app!

This is suddenly happening to me as well. I just switched from Synapse 3 to Synapse 4. Chroma and visualizer were working ok and would start on PC boot with Synapse 3. After upgrading to Synapse 4 the visualizer worked for about a day or so, as I was trying to re-set up my environment and familiarize with controls and options. But around day 3 the visualizer is no longer loading. I have tried repairing all of the Razer apps. I have removed and reinstalled Synapse and Chroma and it still isn’t working correctly.Another note is after the PC boots up, when I use the Razer notification icon to pop up the display for the Razer menu where you can change profiles for each device (I’m not talking about the synapse GUI it’s the quick menu from a single click) in this menu it also shows at the bottom the Chroma settings and the Visualizer one has been starting with ‘Always Off’. Now in the first couple days where this happened, in this same menu, I just switched it to ‘Always On’ and I immediately saw the lights change to the correct Visualizer profile (instead of the Quick Effect). This is also no longer working. Now when I switch this setting to ‘Always On’ …nothing happens. Another side note - previously I was clicking in this area to open the Chroma app. Now when I click in this area, 2 different things happen - Sometimes, I can see an app start to open but then immediately disappear - other times I get a Windows dialog that says you don't have an app to open this program, go to windows store to search blah blah.To make things worse, I just got Razer Freyja and Synapse is saying ‘Launch the Chroma app to further customize...” which I cannot get to open. This issue was already happening before I connected the Freyja.Also sorry for lengthy reply but I also have several peripherals and lights setup for the gamer room, and getting quite frustrated with the amount of time and money put into this for it to just stop working without any explanation.

Razer or a recent MS update obviously messed something up because Im getting exactly the same error. Might go back to Synapse 3 for mor stability

Yeah, many are facing the same or similar issues as you are due to their bs software of upgrading to synapse 4. There is NO fix as Razer themselves need to seriously investigate and release a damn fix.

Have you tried quitting Wallpaper Engine or disabling Chroma integration for it?
