I second that! Just started getting the "content not supported" message and switched to ReVanced. Things are great again.

I think most people that used vanced are too intimidated that it's not just a simple download and install.

I'm looking for an app with the same functionality as the aforementioned YouTube Vanced. I know YouTube Revanced, but the it says on it's GitHub page that it's no longer maintained.

When looking for alternatives on sites like AlternativeTo, I see a bunch of freemium apps (which I don't want), NewPipe and VuTube. The problem with both is that they don't support logging into a Google account, which means no subscriptions, notifications, etc.

For a basic, ad-free YouTube client, I could use Mi Video, but it doesn't have SponsorBlock.

I wish to keep using reddit on my phone, but I refuse to give them a single cent in ad revenue.

I believe you can already patch the official Reddit app with the Revanced Manager App. Removing ads is one of the patches you can enable. Not sure how good it works though ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Edit:

Unfortunately, YouTube has finally killed of Vanced. You can still download the APK and will keep updating it for anyone who needs it, but just know that if it doesn't work, there is nothing I can do about it.

I suggest switching to Revanced, it works decently enough.

RIP YouTube Vanced.

Yay, after 30 seconds, every video i watch starts to load endlessly despite having a high-speed ethernet connection

My friend told me that I could download an app off the Google Play store called "YouTube Vanced" that allowed me to bypass ads and listen to videos even with my screen turned off. It's one of the reasons why I switched to Android.

It was never on the Play Store. You sideload it. Go to r/revancedapp for specific instructions.

You've been saved from potential malware (possibly a fake app). YouTube ReVanced could never be on the Play Store for obvious reasons. The only way to get it is through its official website and using the patch removal tools.

I have YouTube Vanced version 17.03.38 and YouTube music version 4.64.51 and both work great, thankfully they haven't broken yet except the only issue I'm having is with YouTube and I can't watch regular full length videos because it tells me to "upgrade to a newer version of YouTube", i can watch YouTube shorts and only once in a while when i check am i actually ablento watch regular videos. I've had no issues with Vanced YouTube music. If there's something out there that's pretty similar UI wise for Vanced YouTube, I'm just not really comfortable downloading ReVanced for some reason.

With Revanced you patch the apk yourself, so there's minimal sketchiness... Downloading pre-patched apks is sketchy and is strongly discouraged by the Revanced team.

Use the ReVanced manager. The code base is open source as well as the patches. It's only pre-compiled APK's shared online that could be a problem if the website/person injects them with some of their own code. This issue is not a ReVanced issue and is more an issue with your source. If you use the manager this is no longer a concern.
