I finally did it. Ordered my first Hearing Aids (Rexton Reach, from Costco)
I recently started wearing the Rexton Reach R-Li T80s from Costco. It’s my first pair of hearing aids. I have moderate to severe loss at higher frequencies. My ears have the sensation of being under pressure, they don’t pop.
So far, the aids have been helpful but I expected more volume. My technician also only loaded 2 programs - Automatic and Party. (Maybe they are using a template for settings that doesn’t include all of the programs?) After doing some research, it seems like I should have 6 programs, none of them named Party. She also didn’t offer or explain the difference between different domes.
I’m starting to think that I didn’t have the best technician. I’ll take advantage of the follow up visit to ask for a pair of power domes, ask for the additional programs and boost up the volume.
I’m interested if others have had successful experiences navigating similar charges and can offer advice, especially about the programs and using different domes. TIA!
I joined Costco just to utilize their hearing aid center. I had an exam earlier this week, tried on a couple HA's--scheduled a consultation today and got them on order. I went with the intent of ordering Jabra Enhance Pro 20. Tried both them and the Rexton Reach (yes, they are now offering them). The Rexton had a warm natural sound while I thought the Jabra sounded a bit sharp, maybe tinny) The Jabra also picked up some extraneous ruffling and breathing, even with some adjustment. Both were programmed to my profile. The Rexton model, seemed like a good helper for my mild/moderate higher frequency loss, not a loudspeaker. The Reach has both a t coil and the capacity for future Bluetooth LE (Auracast), which I felt like covered all the bases for church, plays and auditoriums. I'll be pairing it with an Iphone, which I understand is the most reliable for bt listening and communication. The cost was $1500. I'll have them in about two weeks and have an appointment to set them up there.
Fingers Crossed--I hope I made a good decision.
