Ryzen Master bricks my computer 50% of the time, I hate it. Try MSI Afterburner or EVGA's PrecisionX1 instead. Turn PC off, turn PSU off, unplug computer completely. Wait a minute. Take out the CMOS battery. Wait a minute. Jump the positive and negative battery terminals (can use an all-metal paper clip), hold the jump for a minute. Reinstall battery and it should boot up into default motherboard specs. That should get ya back to where you were before. Just remember to re-set things like DOCP/EXPO/XMP and other things you may have changed in the bios previously. Answer from awake283 on reddit.com

As I am in no way experienced with OC a CPU, I just followed Jays instructions from JTC's new video about 5 ways for making your PC faster. I have a Ryzen 7 5800x and I enabled auto OC in Ryzen Master to get the desired performance boost, but after doing that, my PC keeps crashing with a WHEA error. Am I doing something wrong? Should I change some other setting as well?

No, you're just getting an unstable overclock. You could try configuring it manually instead, but overclocking is generally not guaranteed to be stable.

Every CPU is different. What works for one may not work for another. You will need to lower the OC until it stops crashing.

Make sure you're not unintentionaly limiting your VCore at the beginning (e.g. UEFI settings for old CPU), give auto Vcore a try, to get it running. So I just got done overclocking my GPU (RTX 2070 super) with MSI’s afterburner OC Scanner.

I opened Ryzen Master to overclock my CPU(RYZEN 5 something something?) and selected auto OC and then it said it had to restart, clicked yes then it took me to the « closing apps before restart screen » the only app to close was the task manager. I am now stuck on that screen..

I tried clicking on restart anyway and then it froze, I waited like 10 minutes. Nothing happened. I tried holding the power button, nothing either.

I’m scared, I don’t want to unplug it but what other choice do I have? It’s been like 30 minutes nothing changed I don’t hear my fans running.

What do I do?

I’m no expert but Ryzen Master is junk and if there was a program that was consistent with almost bricking mobos, it would be Ryzen Master. I’d avoid it all together and just overclock in the bios as intended. You can try to flip the switch on the psu and wait a few minutes before flipping again and try starting. If it doesn’t post you need to reset the cmos to restore all the default settings.

It most certainly seems so, I just googled and realized that the AMD Ryzen master that I am using is actually for overclocking. I currently reversed all settings back to normal, and the ONLY tweaking that I have done was to set base voltage for processor to be 1.3V stable and not Auto.

I got sudden restart issues happening while gaming just like the one in the video and im trying to find the problem so i just need to know if this is normal or not while applying curve optimizer. Note that curve optimizer is not applied after this restart and kernel event 41 and whea 18 processor core erros shows in event viewer, which also exist when it suddenly crashes during gaming or any cpu intensive task. Don't use Ryzen master it's a buggy pos software. Use your bios.

Hey! Ryzen Master does not work very well, if you want to adjust any PBO adjustments, do them directly on the BIOS. Error 41 Kernel Power just says your computer shut down incorrectly, which is consistent with modifying the undervoltages of your CPU by PBO. It might be that it's unstable for your CPU and can't handle them. It's possible that you won't be able to undervolt for -30 and have to go for a -20 or -10. You're ok btw

I have a Ryzen 7 5800x and a Aorus Gigabyte B450m pro wifi motherboard, Windows 11. I recently upgraded to the new CPU and have been using it for a couple weeks. I decided to use Ryzen Master to use to auto optimize for the CPU. It took about an hour and I think it blue screened at one point. But when it was complete I hit apply and it went to rest the PC. When it did, the Aorus screen comes up like it it's booting and the blue screens and says it has to restart. When it restarts, it says its going to repair but then crashes again. It just starts doing this over and over. I tried putting the bios into safe mode but that didn't do anything. Please someone help. I'm fairly new to this stuff.

Try taking the cmos battery out of ur motherboard to reset ur bios, if ur cmos battery is in a super inconvenient place some motherboards have pins u can place something metallic on to jump the bios reset, read ur motherboard manual and it should tell you about both options

In my experience with the 5800x, the results of Ryzen Masters auto per core and all core optimizations were pretty unstable. I’d back everything off 5-10 and use a program like OCCT. The core cycler was pretty good at helping me find a few cores in particular that were way off and then I had to tweak the offsets down even further to prevent the occasional random crashing.

Doing this on mobile so excuse the formatting.

I’ve recently “nuked” my computer, after having issues for a while, and I figured starting completely fresh should help.

And it did! I had a wonderful time doing some easy overlocks/undervolts like turning on EXPO and such. The CPU ran faster and cooler, and off the RAM was doing good too (I think)

But then I downloaded AMD Ryzen Master, and ran the automatic curve optimizer. Now getting it too boot is a real struggle, taking multiple attempts, and usually at least one forceful shutdown… It runs hotter, and with no benefit/speed or increase as far as I can tell

What on earth has happened? I’ve tried resetting the BIOS settings, and that doesn’t seem to have done anything. How can I undo?

And does anyone have any tips for overlocking/undervolting/optimizing that does not bork the computer?

Quick specs: AMD Ryzen 7900X Asus B450 or something Asus 7900 XTX 2x 16GB DDR5 6400MHz Gskill something 1000W Platinum PS from Corsair will correct when I double check, but everything should be listed in a previous post on my profile

Consider installing autoruns/sysinternals suite. autoruns can be stand alone but is included with sysinternals. trustworthy and written/maintained by MS. regardless: as soon as BIOS finishes post and the windows UEFI boot loader begins-hammer F8 until you get the startup options. enter safe mode. this will stop ryzen master from starting. remove its autoruns entry & the ryzen master SDK. reboot normally. do your OCing from BIOS. I'm sure it doesn't matter to you-but Windows 'Reset' uses a locally stored imaged. This means if the system is ever compromised-it's vulnerable. Reset is a somewhat recent feature. Advise you learn at minimum Windows Media Creation Tool. This will give you a USB flash you can boot from/install Windows from. Standard included utilities, disk part, etc. More advanced humans should use Rufus to set their own environment up. But _KNOW_ where your ISO is coming from! Direct from MS is best. Use only trusted isos.
