Best strategy for Saatva Split King
Saatva split king
What Saatva did you purchase and what didn't you like about it? I purchased a Classic King medium firm about 18 months ago. It was OK, but I never liked it. I am 160lbs. back/side sleeper. It aggravated my lower back/hip whenever I was on my side -- I chalked it up to my cranky hip not sinking in enough (59 years old). I called Saatva and asked them about the free 2" topper they send to new mattress purchasers to help with "break in." They sent me one free of charge -- after I owned the mattress for more than a year. It has been a real difference maker for me. Like you, I wasn't willing to throw in the towel on such an expensive purchase. I am a crap sleeper on just about any surface (achy and toss/turn) so who is to say if there is a mattress out there that will once again enable me to sleep through the night (it's been many years since I have).

(Edit: Updated with fresh links June 2025) There's a technique to get the lowest price if you want a Saatva Split King. Order two Twin XLs in separate orders instead since two Twin XLs are the same as a Split King. This allows you to double up on the Saatva discounts and also get an extra $100 off each because you are placing two orders instead of one. This referral link is for an extra $100 off each order: https://saatva.partnerlinks.io/a227jbyvf2sc If you use other discounts below click on the above referral link last.
Navigate to the mattress you want and order one Twin XL. Open a new browser session and order a second Twin. I ordered the second one using my wife's mail address in case they don't want people ordering two mattresses with the same discount and referrals. I got the extra $200 off doing it this way.
The extra $100 will also stack with the following discounts:
15% off order over $975 (Father's Day offer): https://www.saatva.com/sale?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19001576381&gclid=Cj0KCQjwxdXBBhDEARIsAAUkP6hV8Y6IAWLXM6GSc2o_OAzSwxxccxTYpTHPXFegvyhoZlA0aikeXbgaAlsbEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Mechanical frame works fine but we purposely bought the split so we could each have our own mattress for different preferences and back issues and they have both disappointed. We have worsening back issues. We travel frequently and each time we stay in a high end hotel our back issues go away. We wasted a lot of money on the Saatva system. the frame and mattresses are only a year old so this is not due to wear. We each weigh under 150lbs so it should have supported us as promised. Don’t waste your money. We have Amazon and Wayfair mattresses that cost less than $500 for our guest rooms that are much better.
