I got a bill of upwards of USD-200 for this month for Sagemaker, is there any way I could avoid paying this? I did not even use the instance I created and this is the first time i have been billed for anything.

Contact support, they can potentially credit you for the charges. Delete or pause the instance. Learn more about AWS Billing as it doesn’t matter if you don’t use or it not (Similar to EC2, RDS, Redshift, and others) once it’s created and on you’re paying for it. Learn about the cost explorer and budgets to set up notifications. If you haven’t, set up MFA on the root of your account and don’t use the root user account.
