I'm currently running into an issue where on desktop I have a hero section with words on top of an image. The words are on the left and the subject of the image is on the right. For aspect ratios that are wider, this works great, but for phones the subject gets cut off and the text starts to overlap with the image subject. I set a breakpoint for phones to display a different image (with no distracting subject), however I'm seeing that it is not showing this alternate image on some phones with pixel counts above my breakpoint. What is standard procedure here? Wondering if others have had similar experiences and how you work around this.

Maybe show us your actual code? My understanding is that a CSS pixel is not a device pixel but a reference pixel equal to 1/96th of an inch so it shouldn't matter what the devices panel is because the pixel is defined in terms of dpi.

CSS pixels are not the same as actual physical pixels. There is a pixel ratio , which determines how many physical pixels are used to render one CSS pixel. This is true even on desktop devices: you might have a 4k screen on your laptop, but you'll probably have display scaling set to 150% or 200%, so the viewport won't actually be 3840 pixels across. Most phones use a width of around 360 CSS pixels. One source I found online says the Note 20 is 412 CSS pixels across when held in portrait, but if you have one handy you can check for yourself here . I'm not sure why your breakpoints aren't working properly, maybe you can post an example of the code?

I'm looking to pick up an Android phone to play around with. Specifically, I think it would be really fun to have one dedicated for trivia night (Geeks Who Drink), so I would love to get the largest-screen Android smartphone available.
Are there any known issues with the Note 20 Ultra? I come from iOS so I have zero clue of what happens on the Android.
For example
HTC One M7 had pink cameras from overheating
iPhone 6 touch disease, iPhone 7 audio IC failure, iPhone X failing FaceID, iPhone 13 yellow screen of death
Galaxy Note 7 had the notorious exploding batteries
Are there any issues with the Note 20 Ultra I should be cautious of? Would it be a better idea to get the Note 10 Plus?
I have not really considered any Chinese phones on Amazon like the Redmi Note phones, but I suppose I could be convinced as well if they're better than the Note 10+/Note 20U.
I currently own an iPhone 14 Pro as my main phone. This Android phone is strictly for screwing around because of the massive screen.

If you're getting it just to mess around it's a solid device, but don't take the experience for what current devices are capable of. I currently still use mine as my daily and love it, best phone I've ever had hands down. I'd upgrade but I'd like to keep my SD support. Also keep in mind the software support is over (save for security updates). It's currently stuck on Android 13. All around a great device for someone looking to dip their toe into the android world with a semi modern device
