Samsung Q60T (2020): $250, 5.1 ch. I don’t NEED Surround or strong Woofer. It's 2” wider than table.
-
Samsung Q70T (2020): $250. 3.1.2 ch. I don’t NEED Atmos, E-arc, WiFi, or strong Woofer. It's 2” wider than table.
-
Samsung S50B (2022): $250. 3.0 ch. Internal Woofer (ok?). Love the new design and smaller size (27”). 140 watts and 5 speakers. No: atmos or WiFi.

Samsung S60B (2022): $350. 5.0 ch. Internal Woofer (ok?). Love the new design and smaller size (27”). 200 watts and 7 speakers. Has: (Virtual) Atmos and WiFi.
This is a simple modest family living room TV, not a "home theater". I don't need super loud, or heavy rumbles, or height channels, or even "surround" sound. I just want much better sound than the TV speakers. And yes, I'd really like it to look nice.
So I'm leaning to the 2022 models. The S50B is probably enough for me -- unless the 140 watts seems pathetic.. I could splurge for the S60B.
Or is that crazy.. are these 2022s likely junk, compared to the 2020s (which I'd be getting super cheap now).
Thoughts, advise? Thanks!
Need a compact or small soundbar and it looks like 60d is new
Looking at getting the S60A/S61A and considering waiting on the 2022 model. The product page is already up for it and it looks like it adds Wireless Atmos and DTS:X and some vocal/dialogue enhancement features while dropping the Alexa support. I have a QN90A TV so I can't get the wireless 3D sound features they advertise I think, but if the overall package is better than the S60A anyway, I might go for it (I mostly want just better vocal/dialogue performance than my TV speakers anyway since I mostly watch Youtube all day with some TV and movies mixed in).
Anyway, thoughts? Info?
May 16th, $347.99 according to the Amazon listing I just found for it last night. (S61B; I didn't find an S60B listing yet). I also read an article yesterday saying all of Samsung's 2022 soundbars should be out by the end of June.
Yup, I looked at several soundbars for my new QN90A, and decided on the Samsung S60B, but I'm open to the S50B or Sonos Beam 2.

s50b — $250. 3.0 ch, 5 speakers, 140 watts, has Q-Symphony, but lacks Atmos, WiFi, and AirPlay2.
-
s60b — $350. 5.0 ch, 7 speakers, 200 watts, and has Q-Symphony, Atmos, WiFi, and AirPlay2.
-
Sonos Beam 2 — $450 (or $410 at Costco, after $40 Apple GiftCard). 5.0 ch, 5 speakers, and has Atmos, e-Arc, WiFi, and AirPlay2. Oddly no BlueTooth, and obviously no Q-Symphony.
Here's my chart.
All three are hard to find right now. Sonos (black version) is backordered. And the Samsungs I only see on the Samsung.com site. But I prefer Best Buy or Amazon, for easier returns.
I’d love to see a review of S60B vs Sonos Beam 2.
Recently got a Samsung Q60B 43inch for my small one bedroom apartment living room and looking to upgrade the sound from the TV speakers on a budget and with little space. I was looking at the Beam Gen 2 and then came across the S60B. Not many reviews for the Samsung but I’m thinking it may be a better fit with the Samsung TV. The Samsung is cheaper, I also like the fact that it has Bluetooth however no eARC just ARC. Anyone here have any input on the Samsung compared with the Beam?
