Hello, I have a budget for <$200 and I am looking for a corded stick vacuum for my small studio (only hard surfaces plus bed) so I need attachments for floor plus upholstery. What is the difference between the Shark HV371 and 301 models? Any recommendation for other models? Thank you!

I would avoid Shark vacuums they have poor reliability and bad warranty coverage. I recommend the Simplicity Jill $159, this is a small canister vacuum with hepa bags. It will do great on hard floors and it can still do rugs ok. The hose will make cleaning your upholstery easier because you don't have to move the whole unit back and forth. It is a small canister that you can store in pieces. If you want something more like a stick vacuum I'd recommend the Kenmore Intuition Lite BU3040 $149. This is a very small upright vacuum with a powered brushroll with brushroll shutoff and hepa bags. It has a short stretch hose which is still lighter than using a handheld to clean upholstery. It won't be as durable as the simpler Jill but it is compact and some people prefer how a stick or small upright moves.
