April 1, 2025 - My husband got our Dyson at Lowe’s he worked there I think it was a floor model I think. & got it for $25 so definitely a really good steal but I wish it was corded and it would be perfect. IMO hard pass. Since you have mostly hard floors check out a simplicity Jill. It’s super light in the hand because the motor glides along behind you, plus it has no “beater bar” which is actually a drawback with hard floors (and thus nothing for hair to get tangled in either). Sharks work great until they don’t. And when they don’t (nowadays), repair is often impossible or improbable. If you have your heart set on one and find a good deal, I would only buy it from a Costco or place with a similarly generous warranty/return period. This is my second shark stick vacuum and I love this one even more than the old one. The power is much stronger and it works great! I have 6 dogs 2 of which shed and all of which like to track in on occasion. This vacuum does a wonderful job and I use it a few times a day.

I'm looking for a light weight vacuum that's under $200. I was previously using a cordless stick vacuum, however I'm tired of the vacuum dying with only a few months of use. I live in a two story house with vinyl plank flooring and a few animals. I'm currently pregnant so it's hard for me to lift much, but I'd like to be able to vacuum the stairs in the same way as I did with the cordless stick vacuum. The size and shape of the Shark Rocket vacuum looks similar, so I'm thinking I'd be able to use it in the same way, other than having a cord.
Does anyone have the Shark Rocket vacuum and have an opinion on it? Also, I noticed one has an anti-tangle beater bar, which is the one I'd get.

Not great. On hard floors and edging it is OK. Long story, we used one only on the upstairs of our home. I had to replace filters so I brought up the other Shark Navigator from the basement while waiting for filters to arrive. Oh man. The Rocket left behind so much debris, I had to clean out the Navigator after one quick pass! I've been buying Sharks for years because my girlfriend always wants a better vacuum. We don't agree on designs, so upright is what I keep buying. I prefer to use the old Kenmore pull-behind with a floor attachment. If you do get the Rocket, clean it out frequently. I can't get my GF to empty the canister every time.
