I'm looking for a light weight vacuum that's under $200. I was previously using a cordless stick vacuum, however I'm tired of the vacuum dying with only a few months of use. I live in a two story house with vinyl plank flooring and a few animals. I'm currently pregnant so it's hard for me to lift much, but I'd like to be able to vacuum the stairs in the same way as I did with the cordless stick vacuum. The size and shape of the Shark Rocket vacuum looks similar, so I'm thinking I'd be able to use it in the same way, other than having a cord.
Does anyone have the Shark Rocket vacuum and have an opinion on it? Also, I noticed one has an anti-tangle beater bar, which is the one I'd get.

IMO hard pass. Since you have mostly hard floors check out a simplicity Jill. It’s super light in the hand because the motor glides along behind you, plus it has no “beater bar” which is actually a drawback with hard floors (and thus nothing for hair to get tangled in either). You can expect 3-5 years of life depending.

Not great. On hard floors and edging it is OK. Long story, we used one only on the upstairs of our home. I had to replace filters so I brought up the other Shark Navigator from the basement while waiting for filters to arrive. Oh man. The Rocket left behind so much debris, I had to clean out the Navigator after one quick pass! I've been buying Sharks for years because my girlfriend always wants a better vacuum. We don't agree on designs, so upright is what I keep buying. I prefer to use the old Kenmore pull-behind with a floor attachment. If you do get the Rocket, clean it out frequently. I can't get my GF to empty the canister every time.

Finally a corded stick vacuum that works on low pile carpet!! I've tried 3 other top 5 brands but they didn't lift the carpet, not enough suction but this Shark does. I have 6 animals and it sucks hair up great on carpet and floors. It's light to maneuver, excellent lights on the head.

April 1, 2025 - My husband got our Dyson at Lowe’s he worked there I think it was a floor model I think. & got it for $25 so definitely a really good steal but I wish it was corded and it would be perfect.

I'm looking for a new vacuum and I think corded stick vacuums are gonna be the best fit. Looks like Shark makes quite a few different models most of them under the Shark Rocket series. On their website they only list 4 different models but between Amazon, Costco, and a few other retailers there's probably at least 10 to 15 different models I've come across under the Shark Rocket brand. Is there any site that catalogs all the various Shark corded stick vacuums and compares them, even at a high level?

Consumer Reports has a ranking 11 corded stick vacuums, 10 of which are Sharks. There's not a lot of competition in the corded stick vacuum segment, most companies only make a cordless battery stick vacuum. Even so Shark is not a brand I recommend because they break quickly, many in just a few years. Shar's warranty only covers the suction motor, the brushroll motor, handle, hose on full size, are all considered wear items and are not warrantied. Shark sells very few replacement parts so repairing their vacuums is impossible or very expensive. If you really want a Shark I recommend getting a corded version for more power and no battery issues, avoid the duo clean brushrolls, they clean worse and have another gear that can break, and choose an upright because it has more power and it has a hepa filter. None of the Shark Rockets have a hepa filter. Shark Navigator Pro NV150C and Shark Navigator Liftaway Speed ZU560C . The uprights are very small for an upright so there's not much advantage to choosing a Rocket. If you're interested in a vacuum that you won't have to replace every couple year let me know your flooring type/mix, vacuuming needs, and budget I can recommend other vacuums. Henry, Miele, and Sebo are very good brands Hoover has some very affordable models too but not all Hoovers are recommended. Hope all of that helps.
