Can I use small tiles on my shower floor?
Small tiles are an excellent choice for shower floors as they allow for more grout lines, which can increase traction and reduce slipping. Matte porcelain mosaic tiles, often used in showers, offer both aesthetic appeal and functional safety.
What tiles are most suitable for shower floors?
For shower floors, porcelain mosaic tiles with a matte or textured finish are the most ideal. These tiles not only offer excellent durability and water resistance but their smaller size and additional grout lines provide enhanced grip, making them safer and easier to install. While large format porcelain tiles are technically suitable for shower floors, they require a more complex installation process to ensure proper drainage and surface safety. It's important to rely on a skilled installer to handle these aspects effectively, ensuring that your shower floor is both beautiful and functional.
What should I look for in slip-resistant shower floor tiles?
Look for shower floor tiles that have a matte or textured surface. These tiles are designed to provide better grip underfoot, crucial in preventing slips and falls in the shower.

Shower Tile floor replacement
Hi all,
I'm looking to have my entire shower redone. The house came with a cheap fiberglass shower base that has been impossible to keep clean, so I don't want another one of those. I've read on here that penny tiles are awful because they are hard to keep clean. I assume then that most small tiles are not great either, but then I've also read that large format tiles aren't good. So I'm not entirely sure what I should be looking at. What are some tile options that still look good, but don't require a ton of maintenance?
Thanks!
