I have some customers who also use a flextop or solid topper or mattress, pad and sheet, however the more layers on top tomorrow awkward individual movement might be. The good thing is that with these solutions, you are not forcing more into the split, and as needs change, or as you figure out how to cuddle or have activities side to side they can be removed. So I've had a king size split bed for awhile now. I like the individual control, however, I don't like that the split in the middle really gets in the way of cuddling and activities. Was wondering if anyone has recommendations as to what they use to fill in the gap from time to time aside from just a blanket or pillow
I really wish sleepnumber had a perfect formed foam cutout I guess

Go on Amazon and look up something called a bed bridge. This has helped a ton of my customers and may be a good fit got you.

My wife and I are in the market for a new mattress. We are trying to decide between a sleep number vs. a firm mattress. How is it going with you/your partner using different sleep numbers? Is the Sleep Number really just a glorified controllable air mattress? Is yours adjustable? If so, how do you like it? Thanks!

You would be essentially paying a huge sum for what amounts to a fancy air mattress that's prone to mechanical problems. Take this with a grain of salt as I personally have never laid on one. That being said, I do sell beds and see a large number of Sleep Number owners that despise it and come to me looking for something else. To be fair, my sample size is skewed because it's not like someone would just stop in my store to not buy a bed and tell me that they love their Sleep Number, but I would be cautious.

we have had a sleep number since dec 2019. an i10 split king. very happy with our sleep, we both have different sleep numbers 65/35. i enjoy my feet slightly elevated when i sleep. the partner snore function works sometimes and that is not a functional problem with the bed but of the partner 🙃. the foot warmer is lovely in florida winters. that being said the bed did not come without headaches. our first i10 mattress had some problems with the brain/computer. we had to constantly plug and unplug the bed to reset the system. it was a nightmare at the time. well just our luck we get brand new mattress august 2020. smack dab in middle of covid. thankfully we lived in Florida and the open state made this swap easier. i worked with 2 wonderful people from sleep number corporate whom made the entire ordeal a bit smoother. we moved in sept 2021 and decided not to use sleep number to move our bed. an in state move and the mover assured us they knew what to do & possibly they did. we the owners of the bed did not change the wifi for the bed to our new residence wifi. setting up the bed took an extra 3 hours with the movers. someone googled and we finally figured it out. because of this our mattress got a bit distorted, cover is not straight and alined, although no problems with bed’s functionality. ok so we moved & then we began having issues with the base. it was making strange sounds and not functioning as it should. long and short we got a new base april 2022. sine then it has been smooth sailing. we made a second move with the bed and all is well. fortunately for us we did not incur any additional costs for the bed and its parts although if i calculated our time trying to work thru different scenarios and situations that my rack up some cost. have the beds changed since we got ours? the manufacturers? no idea but id like to say id give it another go if and when we need to.

I, sadly, did not love my sleep number bed. I didn't even like it. It caused pain that I've never had from any other sleeping surface and truly lowered my quality of living in a massive way. I've created a video showing all my concerns and experiences with a sleep number bed.
I'm sure this is a great mattress to certain people, but for my money it was not a good experience and I'll never speak well of the brand unless I'm given serious incentive to experience a different product line than the one I owned.

Sorry to hear that. For anyone reading this remember that bed comfort is entirely unique to the individual and your experience may vary. I’ve had a sleep number for a month now and I absolutely love it. I was hesitant with all the claims of “glorified air mattress” and the delivered product being lower quality than the store, but I found neither to be true. For what it’s worth, when I replaced my spring mattress of 10 years a year ago, I bought a nectar memory foam bed in the box which absolutely destroyed my body. I mean destroyed it. Then I swapped that out for a hybrid Serta, which wasn’t a whole lot better. Finally I came to sleep number, and I feel amazing everyday!
