What's lost if we switch to basic family plan?
I see audiobook listening is but what else is?
Do any of the following change:
Audio quality
unlimited skip
Offline Listening
Addfree listening
Individual vs family
Besides sharing an account with the family is there a difference? In Premium Individual I was able to listen and download some books but now I just got Premium Family and it’s got this message:
You can't buy audiobooks in the app, but titles you've already purchased through Spotify can be listened to here.
In individual the lock icons weren’t on any of these chapters - what am I doing wrong?

Don't forget to switch to basic family with the price increase if you're the account holder and not using audio books!
Back to $16.99USD on basic... For now.
for context, we are a family of 4, 2 daughters, me and my wife. we share a premium individual account across 4 devices, then i bought my daughters a tablet and they installed spotify. and now one of us gets logged out from time to time, is it true only 5 devices per account? then i saw the family plan, with 6 accounts all tied in, does that mean we can log in 5 devices per account? and also can we import and export playlist? since my account holds all our playlist.
so my card got changed and i originally had basic family premium, but when i added my new card, it told me to choose either premium individual, duo or family. family is $20 while basic family was $16. is this option gone now?? i don’t rlly use audiobooks so it’s a waste of money for me to get the $20 one. plus i already had the subscription idk why it got taken away.
I have a family plan with six people and I just downgraded us to the basic plan (when Spotify was going to automatically renew us for the more expensive premium plan) because it didn’t seem fair that everybody would be paying extra when I’m the only one who would get to listen to audiobooks. Idk if I missed something?
With the price increase, it looks like I can keep the $16.99 price by going from premium family to basic family. There are two differences listed: basic doesn't include audiobooks (fine), and there's a distinction between "up to 6 basic/premium accounts".
So does basic family include ads? Doesn't allow downloads? Anything else? If so, what is the benefit of basic family over just going with the free service?
lol I just had the same question except about duo instead of family. Must be they just released these plans today, I got the same email

"Basic Family" isn't marked "Premium" like the other plans are, so I'm wondering which of those features it's missing, in addition to audiobooks.
I just got done with a hour long chat with support. I'm trying to switch our Premium Duo plan to a Basic Family Plan so I can add our kids and opt for a plan that doesn't include audio books to save money. After an hour between two people, they told me I can't "downgrade" my account to a Basic Family Plan.
Is anyone else dealing with this bullshit? I've been a premium subscriber for over ten years and I haven't complained even though podcasts and audiobooks have been forced on my subscription while fees continue to rise.
After all my loyalty, this may be the breaking point.
And they also told me there's no way to contact them via phone. I wanted to escalate my request. Does anyone know how to reach support via phonecall?
Recently talked to a US mobile representative. Apparently Spotify Family is different from Spotify Family Premium? Even though Spotify Family is not a thing?
Seems like there's been a little misunderstanding. The Spotify family plan, also known as the Spotify "premium family" is the perk we're currently offering. You can go ahead and send us the receipts if you have multiple lines on the Unlimited All plan.
Feel free to send me a DM if you have any questions :)
No there's only one family plan offered by Spotify.
Anyone else who downgraded from Premium Family plan to Basic Family plan due to the price change lose their basic family plan and get kicked to free individual due to payment not being processed?
I talked to customer support and they said nothing I can do to get basic family plan now. The system for some reason did not process my payment and because of it, my family all got kicked to free individual plans. I had no change to payment method and never had any issues with autopayments. Looks like we will be switching.
I was planning on changing to basic but it still says $16.99 for next month. Any ideas?
I woke up to this email. Spotify is increasing the price for family plan again?? They’ve just added useless features that I bet less than 5% of users use (such as the DJ) and increased the price for everyone. Prices are in Australian dollars
