r/steamsupport on Reddit: How can I submit a Steam Support Ticket?
August 3, 2023 -

I'm trying to recover my account as I think my account got hacked. When trying to change passwords, I saw that my account was under a different email than usual and I'm trying to recover my account.

The Steam Support isn't really helpful and is actually rather bland in helping me. I need to submit a support ticket but there's no obvious button for that.

r/Steam on Reddit: Should I resubmit my support ticket?
November 16, 2014 -

My account got hijacked 9 days ago, and I submitted a support ticket immediately, however, there is no reply yet. I was wondering if I should close this ticket and submit a new one, or to just keep waiting for a reply from steam support.

UPDATE: Thanks for telling me to sit tight and wait! I just got my account back today.

April 29, 2020 - When opening old tickets, I get "The help request you are trying to view is no longer accessible because it was closed more than 60 days ago." Given that Steam's screenshot system can end up with non-existent ones after an unknown period, I wouldn't rely on Steam storing your data properly anyway. If your support tickets contain images or videos I suggest saving the page in whatever way and if that way does not capture them, also saving the media separately.

January 26, 2023 - So my support ticket takes like 3 days but they gladly respond to unfunny shit like this, very cool and epic ... And we’re supposed to let your sorrowful view drag us down? I don’t think so. Pull yourself out of your monitor screen before you break an arm jerking yourself off. 🖕🏻🖕🏻Stare ‘em down, Jackson. ... That's a good idea. I might just do that. ... Steam Support is great.

As the title says, where can I submit a support ticket to the steam support? I keep being redirected to the same page (https://help.steampowered.com/en/) and there's no button or anything to submit a support ticket. Also the info I'm looking for is not there.

I've been trying to redeem a gift all day and all it says is "There was a problem redeeming the gift. Please try again later, or contact Steam Support for assistance.".

I just want to give a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Steam Support for being unbelievably quick and effective! My email got hacked recently, and within a few hours, the Steam team had already helped me recover my account and made sure everything was secure. Seriously, you guys are on another level!

Meanwhile, the neighbor (you know, that other store that have a famous battleroyale) still hasn’t managed to help me recover my account, even after weeks of waiting. But hey, who needs good support when you have... uh, well, nothing, I guess?

Anyway, Steam, you’re the real MVP! Thanks for actually caring about your players. 🙌"

I have been on a great fucking hunt trying to make a support ticket on a subject I will not be discussing here and every time I think I've struck gold, it just puts me back at the god damn main support page. It used to be so much easier, but it seems Valve tries really hard for you not to make a ticket.

Yes I know that through certain games etc. you can get a ticket to pop up, but it shouldn't be so hard to find a "create ticket" button. The problem is that they aren't under the subjects that would qualify for my ticket.

Yes they did try to make it harder to create tickets, but simply for the reason that by far the most tickets can be answered by going through their support articles or by using Google. This should drastically reduces the amount of created support tickets in two ways: Amount of unnecessary tickets and the remaining ones are already strictly ordered by the topic. You can still create semi-general tickets e.g. here .

I really wish the ticket system acted like this: Insert ticket for something Hello! Your ticket has been sent, but due to mass volumes of tickets that could be solved by our help articles and FAQ's, your ticket will not be reviewed by a human for at minimum 24 hours. Here is a link to our help articles based on what you asked for! If these articles fix your issue, please mark this ticket as resolved. If they did not, wait the minimum 24 hours and a support employee will help resolve your ticket "I have checked the help articles and they do not resolve my issue" (Clicking the above would submit the ticket for review by a real person in 24 hours if you didn't resolve it by then yourself) That way we could actually speak to a REAL PERSON for once. I submitted a request about refunds. Asking if it was possible to refund a game as second time (because of performance issues I wasn't able to run the game the first time around) and I just got this cookie-cutter answer back from a bot that didn't answer my question at all. With this system, a real person would see this isn't something that could be answered by FAQ and resolve it for me.

r/steamsupport on Reddit: I had my Steam Support Ticket completely deleted from "My Recent Help Requests"
February 7, 2022 -

I have been attempting to get a refund for over 2 weeks now, I had been developing a case but also submitted several tickets just over a week ago.

Recently my newest submission was entirely deleted and I am unsure why, I was not warned, commented, or informed in any form, I don't even have the ticket of the incident.

Does anyone have any information on the matter? For awareness I have been trying to acquire a refund through my Consumer Law and have been denied on several accounts, which I have found to be unjustified.

Edit: I am on day 2 since submitting the ticket.

They worked with me for a week straight troubleshooting my steamdeck (to no avail unfortunately) and even though I am pretty tech literate and had already tried most of what they were asking it was nice to see how involved they were and how knowledgeable they were.

eventually I sent it away for RMA and it was taking quite a while so I asked them for an update and they gave me a free game for the extended wait time. Literally the day after this I got the shipping notification for my deck and it got back to me working as of yesterday

r/steamsupport on Reddit: Stolen Account Help cant open Support Ticket
December 28, 2020 -

How? How to open a steam support ticket?

I know this sounds dumb but please bear with me. This is not a specific request. It is a general questions because steam is mindboggling.

Let me start from the beginning: My brother managed to get his steam Account stolen. Now, I have the thankful task of recovering it. I tried reseting password, locking the account etc.

To make it short Im trying to open a steam support ticket.

But it is impossible, literally impossible.

It either asks me to change the password, which doesnt help because i cant login even with a changed password, secondly I need to unlock the account (not important for now)

What I need is a steam support ticket.

The following link is supposed to provide me with one.

Where, literally where, do I need to go from here.

How to get to a support ticket for a stolen account, please?
