February 3, 2025 - The first T-4, designated "101", first flew on 22 August 1972. The test pilot was Vladimir Ilyushin, son of famed aircraft designer Sergei Ilyushin, and the navigator was Nikolai Alfyorov. Testing continued to 19 January 1974.

Fuselage: The fuselage was divided into a forward section, a center section and a rear section. In the forward fuselage, a radome covered the radar. An electronic equipment bay was behind the radome. The crew cockpit was in the upper fuselage, behind the electronic equipment bay.

October 29, 2007 - It is very similar to Design #19, but upon zooming in, one can see that the latter has a wider fuselage and where the cockpit flushes with it.
