My local fabric store had a good sale on sunbrella (60% off!), and I bought some to make indoor cushion covers for the living room, where my cat sleeps a lot. I want to make covers in order to be able to wash them more easily (cat hair!). I'm not sure which type of sunbrella it is but it said to wash with a damp cloth on the fabric roll, the clerk advised to hand wash, but I'm wondering if any of you has tried machine washing sunbrella fabric that was not meant to be machine washed? I'm wondering if it would be OK for indoor use (maybe it looses some of its rigidity? Which would actually be great in my case). It just seems so sturdy.
Thanks! :)
We got an outdoor furniture set with Sunbrella fabric, and unfortunately white (or maybe it's an off-white) was the only option. We also have a golden retriever.
For the first year, we've been fine with me using a lint roller for the dog hair (lol) and spraying a dish soap and water solution and cleaning with a paper towel, but at this point, it's not effective enough - not to mention the lint roller method takes forever.

What is the best tool(s) to both clean the dog hair and then get it back to as close to the original white/off-white color as we can? Is there a steamer of some sort that would work well with this?
