I am currently looking into building an Ergonaut One and I’m at the point of considering my options for low profile switches.

Beforehand I was using a custom built Kunlun board (from KBDFans) with lubed U4T bobas (an MX-Style switch) and I really love the feel of them.

I have heard lots of great things about the Cowberries or Wisterias (especially lubed). I would love to hear some opinions on this topic or some options I might have not even considered yet.

Would be grateful for any feedback :)

I have tried tactile choc browns and sunsets, and linears twilight and red pro. The sunsets are ok if you like the feedback and was my choice over both browns (horrible) and red pros (ok but felt too light and I had the feeling that I lost control while typing too easily) Since I tried the twilight, I am happy. Even at the same rating as the red pros, they are more estable and you can type precisely. After getting used to the twilights, used the sunsets again in the same keyboard but felt that required too much strength and the feedback was not that great. So I am sticking with the twilights for now. edit: corrected spelling mistakes

My biggest issue with mechanical keyboards (and most keyboards in general) is that the keys are really tall. Low profile switches, like Cherry MX low profile reds, are perfect, but I personally prefer tactile switches like browns. Are there any other companies' switches that are tactile and low profile?

Old thread, I know, but thought it was worth mentioning in case anybody stumbles on it in the future because I looked for something similar myself a few months back. I have this HAVIT KB395L Low Profile keyboard, which I use on occasion: https://www.prohavit.com/products/hv-kb395l-low-profile-mechanical-keyboard/ It has low profile Kailh blues, and they're pretty clicky. I got it on Amazon for $69. I like it quite a bit, though I would probably prefer low profile browns if that ever becomes an option.

With these I get the occasional actuation before the click if I'm pressing very slowly (some gaming scenarios), but haven't run into the issue while typing. I am looking for low profile clicky switches, for office work. but most of the clicky switches are loud and i can't get a proper switch tester without importing, I checked kailh choc v1 white, and kailh choc v2 brown, but i don't know how loud they are, if anyone has those switches or any alternative switches you know that are great for typing but quiet, for comparison i have kailh jade switches, but they are too loud for my use

white will be clicky (as loud as you can get for chocs) brown and others will be quieter, but not as quite as "silent" style MX switches. If you want a tactile choc switch, I've heard good things about Sunsets .

Are you looking for quiet (i.e. non clicky, without a clicking mechanism) or for properly silent (i.e. non thocky, which means the manufacturer implemented a silencing method)? The former would be the majority of switches, low profile or not, but that level of quietness might not be sufficient for all your co-workers... The latter sadly does not exist for off-the-shelf low profile switches yet. However you can mod linear or tactile choc switches to do so (look for "tape mod"). This hack works but it is time consuming and may get you inconsistent results.
