A few days ago I shared with the sub the flooring I built for home use. I tested it out on Thursday. While it was a significant improvement over the mats on concrete I still found the falls a bit stiff. It's possible I have too much foam under the sub floor. It's also possible that it felt stiff because it was the first non-crashpad throws I've taken since early March. The third possibility is that my puzzle mats are trash. Does anyone know the measurable differences between puzzle mats vs. tatami or Dollamur mats? By measurable I'm talking about absorption rates or other criteria that demonstrate the difference? Anecdotal evidence is fine as well. I don't want to spend the money on new mats if it won't make much of a difference.
