I've been sleeping on a base model purple for the last 3 years and it's been ok. It already seems to have a lower spot on one side though. I loved it the 1st few months but now it doesn't seem to cradle as well as it did and I will get some lower back ache. (I have a bulged disc that flairs up sometimes)
Long story short. I'm in the middle if a break up and she is taking the mattress so she doesn't have to buy anything new.
That leaves me looking for a new queen size mattress.
I am eyeballing a tempurpedic. I like the way a soft cradles but am afraid it might get a soft spot like the purple did or other cheap ones I've had in the past. With the cost of it that would suck.
To get the soft mattress you can't go with their cheaper base model. It's the proadopt version which is 2700 compared to purple at 1100.
Has anyone compared the 2 personally ?
Trying to take advantage of the memorial day sale.

Do Purple and Tempur-Pedic work on adjustable bases?
My husband and I have been mattress shopping and laid down on some Purple and Tempur-Pedic mattresses over the weekend. Specifically looking at the Purple Restore Plus Hybrid Firm and the Tempur-Pedic LuxeAdapt or LuxeBreeze Hybrid Mediums.
I am about 5’3” and 230 and my husband is 6’1” and 245. So he’s tall but still on the heavier side, and I’m a chunky curvy lady haha. He can sleep in pretty much any position, but prefers his side. I tend to sleep mostly on my stomach and side, and almost never on my back.
He felt they were all pretty comfortable, and so did I. I really enjoyed the freedom of movement that I experienced on the purple while trying that out but am concerned about the longevity of the brand when it comes to heavier sleepers, but I don’t know if that’s a founded concern or not.
We also both felt that the Tempur-Pedic firm models were too stiff, but we also know they tend to soften up not only over time, but also just as you’re sleeping throughout the night, and don’t want to make a mistake getting something that’s too soft for stomach sleeping. But we did like the medium hybrids better during the 10 minutes we were on them.
Anyway, send help! TIA for any opinions, input and suggestions!
We bought a Purple 4 four years ago. At the time, it was their best mattress, according to the salesperson. It began to sag at least a year ago, and now it is uncomfortable and does nothing to remedy my spouse's back pain.
We are considering either a Sleep Number or Tempur-pedic for replacement, but we have to wait a while because of the high cost of both mattresses.
In the meantime, we are shopping for a topper. Any recommendations for someone with chronic back and hip pain with radiculopathy into the feet and neuropathy?
And, does anyone have opinions, advice, etc on Sleep Number versus Tempur-pedic?
TIA!
Hello, everyone ! I am looking to buy a good mattress and some real good quality pillows since my partner and I have had some of the worst sleepless nights due to our Walmart mattress and pillows haha. I really want to get a mattress that is for side and stomach sleepers and that help me sleep ! Has anyone had experience with Purple? I am thinking of going with the cheaper route as well with a Costco mattress so if you have a Costco mattress that you’ve enjoyed for side sleepers let me know . 🤗❤️
