My first ThinkPad: P16s Gen 1 AMD
Thoughts on Thinkpad P16s Gen 1 (Intel)?
My new P16s Gen 1 AMD died in a week
You got the one in a thousand that passed factory tests then went faulty in the first week. Don't overthink it.

Preemptive edit: I'll try to answer questions asap, if any occur. But it might take some time. Sorry for that.
Coming from a MacBook with what I'd describe as a good Keyboard: The ThinkPad's Keyboard is indeed even better, the Touchpad on the other side is rather mediocre at best. It is not as responsive and "left click" on the pad itself sometimes get stuck and I start dragging things around by accident. Could be me though, maybe my usage will improve over time.
The Display is good, but not "mindblowing". The MacBook is superior when it comes to image quality. Though it is hard to complain about the ThinkPad. There is plenty of space, high pixel-density, everything is bright, crisp and looks good. It is a pleasant environment for work.
Wi-Fi is reliable and superior to the MacBook: Not only are the transfer rates higher, but so is "ping". My usual latency to GeforceNow on the MacBook was around 24ms, while it is around 11ms on the ThinkPad (same router, same positions on my desk).
Battery is sufficient for what I'd call a full day of work: 10h+ of coding, compiling, browsing, uploading and downloading data.
The speakers are okay. Do not buy this if you want great Laptop Sound. Again, it isn't terrible, but media consumption isn't the focus.
Connectivity is far superior on the ThinkPad. It is not even a competition!
It is a responsive and performant system, but for one exception: During a short break, after the Display turns off (before sleep mode), the ThinkPad needs an extra second to become responsive again.
I hope this is a BIOS, Driver issue that will be resolved eventually.
Fans are silent or off during my line of work.
Cinebench23:
10 minutes (battery): Multi 9765 84,3°C max Temp (22,8°C ambient), quiet Fan noise about 4% of battery power delta T = 61,5°C Single 1271 63°C max Temp (24,2°C ambient), no Fan noise delta T = 38,8°C about 2% of battery power 10 minutes (plugged-in): Multi 10334 79,4°C max Temp (23,1°C ambient), loud Fan noise delta T = 56,3°C Single 1523 91.1°C max Temp (23,7°C ambient), silent Fan noise delta T = 67,4°C

Geekbench 5 (performance mode!)

Performance mode doesn't seem to be worth it for productivity:
Maybe for running games on the iGPU.
Looking to buy a workstation / CAD laptop. I found one that is the 48GB RAM/Intel i7-1270p/1TB SSD trim. Seems like it has the T550 4GB integrated GPU as well. Anything I should look out for with this laptop, possibly other recommendations? There's not much info online about this model, no detailed video reviews nor articles. Can't even find the detailed spec page (21BUS0H200). Just the general product info page.
