Hey Reddit!
I’m looking for advice on upgrading my TV and need some input. I currently have a 55-inch TV, and I sit about 11-12 feet away from the screen. My wife and I are debating the right size for our new TV. Here’s the situation: • I feel like a 75-inch would be a great upgrade and give us that immersive experience. • My wife thinks 65 inches would be enough, but I’m worried it might still feel too small at our viewing distance. • I really want a 77-inch OLED because of the picture quality and larger size, but I’m not sure if that’s overkill for our space. • Pictured credenza is where it will go. It’s 80 inches in width.
I could mount the TV on the wall, which would give us about 13 feet of distance, but I don’t know if that changes the equation much.
So, my questions are: 1. Does anyone here use a 65-inch TV at 11-12 feet? How does it feel in terms of size? 2. For those with larger TVs (75-inch or 77-inch) at a similar distance, do you think the jump in size is worth it? 3. If you were in my shoes, what would you go for and why?
Appreciate any advice or feedback! I want to make the right choice since this will probably be our main TV for years. Thanks in advance!
