r/UPS on Reddit: UPS next day air saver new commit time of 4:30PM for residential??
July 21, 2025 -

Hi everyone,

I was going to ship a package using next day air SAVER to a residential address. I see that it said it would have a commit time of 4:30PM and not by end of day like it used to. So can someone verify if the commit time actually changed to 4:30PM to residential and not by the end of the day like it used to? Thank you!

r/UPS on Reddit: Next Day Air delivery time changed?
December 28, 2023 -

I ordered a package NDA (not saver btw) and I’ve done this frequently. I’m residential but have always had a guaranteed delivery time of 12pm, which was almost always upheld, with a few minor exceptions.

The last few purchases now say they will be delivered by 3pm to 7pm, but that has been extended to 9pm the last few times.

I thought maybe it’s due to being so close to the holidays, especially since I can’t find evidence of the NDA guarantee being suspended or altered. Not a huge deal, but I work nights and prefer to be home when a package arrives!

Any insight? Might it go back to the by 12pm deadline after the new year? Just curious :) Thanks!

I am trying to order from a company and paid for next day air. He contacted me and said that UPS next day air service is no longer guaranteed and that it shows delivery will now be 2 business days using "Next day Air". Is this a UPS thing now or am I getting false information from them? I paid $40.00 for this and the shipper informed me that they needed an additional $20.00 for the Next Day Air service BUT to be aware that UPS no longer guarantees Next Day Air and that shipping shows 2 business days for Next Day Air. So, it costs $60.00 for 2 business day shipping using UPS?

r/UPS on Reddit: Am I guaranteed delivery today on NextDayAir service?
November 22, 2023 -

• I’m waiting for my NextDayAir package!

I ordered some items and selected UPS Next Day Air on Sunday evening. My package was shipped out the following day Monday and issued a label. I had assumed that it was guaranteed to arrive today Tuesday.

So far l haven’t received any updates on its whereabouts. I do not even know where it is shipping from. Although I can imagine it’s from somewhere within the country. I still have hope that it will arrive by tonight or early morning tomorrow. (UPS typically delivers to me around 4-7)

I paid an extra $40 hoping that it arrives before Wednesday. It’s a surprise gift for Thanksgiving I didn’t want guests or family to see it arrive.

Also, not sure if it matters but I do live in smallish border town in Texas (30mins away from Uvalde & Del Rio). I wouldn’t imagine that being an issue, right?

**EDIT: I realized that Black Friday discounts begin way before Black Friday. That could mean that the sender still has it at their warehouse since they may be getting lots of orders this week. Or the same could be said about UPS, so many orders get placed this week for the discount prices, they may be processing too many packages and just haven’t gotten to processing mine yet.

r/UPS on Reddit: Next day air early says guaranteed, any way to refund?
December 24, 2025 -

So basically the last 3 times I've paid for next day air early which was a hefty bit of money my package has not arrived the next day, it is 2-3 days, their site says it's a guaranteed service so is there any way to get a refund or even partial refund? I tried to get info through the shipper but they haven't given me much to go on, and I spoke to someone not involved in the situation that says the shipper likely doesn't want to push for the refund to jeopardize their relationship with UPS. I don't really think I'd be all that mad if it happened once out of 3 times, but 3 for 3 forking over that kind of money is just absurd to me, why even offer the service if you cannot follow-through with it. Not to mention the updates are so incredibly vague, this most recent one says that they ran out of room loading the plane or something to that effect, so is there only one plane that runs out per day or something? It hasn't been updated since 7:30 this morning, no new delivery time or day, just that they'll update me at some point. I'm hoping that it just gets loaded on a plane this evening and makes delivery tomorrow but hell if I know at this point.

r/UPS on Reddit: Question about next day air
January 30, 2026 -

I use ups a lot and I was wondering if something changed about next day air versus next day air saver. I used to only do next day air saver but I realized that my packages would take forever to come and would usually arrive around 7-8pm. A while ago when I tried next day air my package came 10:30am but then the next few times that I’ve used next day air my packages all came around 7-8pm still. With my most recent next day air package I saw the ups truck in my apartment complex twice and I didn’t get my package until the 3rd time they came around which was at 7:30pm. Is there any difference between next day air and next day air saver? I would think that ups would prioritize the people who paid for next day air but it seems like they have a route they follow and the people who pay for next day air don’t get priority anymore?

I purchase overnight labels regularly for my business, 90% of the time I choose next day air, guaranteed delivery by 12pm. I purchased overnight label next day air, I let the client know it would be there by 12pm, sent the client tracking number.

Client contacted me to let me know ETA is 7:00pm, I checked and they were correct. I assumed I purchased the wrong next day air, double checked and I purchased correctly Next day air is $56.87, next day air saver is $55.66, it’s always been a $1 and change difference between next day air (12pm guaranteed) and air saver (end of day).

I clicked on compare details I was surprised to see next day air and next day air saver both guaranteed delivery by 11pm. When did this change? Could this be a glitch? I checked over night labels purchased last week, all were correct, delivery by noon and they made it there by 12pm.

Sorry for another complaint, I’m sure yall see this enough, but I am so extremely tired of this shit.

3rd NDA early package this week to not arrive until nearly 8pm. One of them was out for delivery and ended up missing my house entirely, and didn’t get here until 8pm the next day. Why would they continue to sell a service if they can’t manage to uphold that service?

Because the item is being sent to my house, does that mean that it is not held to the same standard as norma Next Day Air by 10:30am? On Follow My Delivery, it shows the driver making all sorts of stops between 1-2 miles from me since this morning. Is there a threshold that needs to be crossed before filing a claim to get the premium fee refunded?

FWIW, I normally ship via FedEx Custom Critical, so not having a drop-off on schedule is a new occurrence.

We may lose a $180K account because of UPS. We sent units next day air, they left the warehouse at 4PM in Alpharetta, GA. The truck goes straight to the distribution center, but they didn't check them in until 00:01 so that "next day air" could really be "two day air". The recipients had a whole team waiting to move the shipment to THEIR customers. I am disgusted. Next day air has almost never worked, but this time we had people watching the shipment get loaded and were the immediate last stop before the dispatch. Horrific.

r/UPS on Reddit: UPS Overnight Air
February 3, 2026 -

Can someone help to explain to me why all my Overnight Air packages give an expected delivery for the 2nd day?

Like, straight off the bat, immediately after the package is processed and begins its movement, the expected delivery day they provide is the day AFTER the actual "next day".

I order weekly from a company in NY. Shipping to Maine. And every week on Mondays, they drop my package off to UPS around 3pm. It shows it is processed around 4pm. And around 5-7pm it shows it had departed the origin facility and is on the way. It arrives at my local hub by 7am -8am. But it sits until the following morning, then it goes out for delivery and arrives Wednesday evening around 5-6pm.

I asked UPS what the cutoff time for overnight Air is, and was told that if my package is accepted, processed by 7pm and is on the plane traveling that night, it would be delivered the next day, Tuesday. However, this is never the case. I get Wednesday evening as my delivery day. This is the general practice for these packages, I have been using this weekly service for just under a year now, and this is always the expected delivery day UPS overnight air provides. It makes no difference how early the package is dropped off, processed and its always in flight and on the way by 6pm Monday night. Its only traveling one State away too. It takes 36-48 hours for a Monday afternoon shipped Overnight Air package to be delivered.

I don't understand what is wrong. From what I am told by UPS, my package should absolutely be delivered on Tuesdays. I know weather can certainly be an issue, but like I mentioned, they give me a Wednesday expected delivery date right from the start. So even though it makes the plane Monday night, it gets put aside for Wednesday delivery. It cost me a little over $50.00 for this shipping.

r/UPS on Reddit: Paid $55.69 for next day air
January 3, 2025 -

Yesterday morning, I made a purchase, spoke to the salesperson who ensured me that pickups hadn't arrived yet, paid for next day air.

In the evening, the pickup occurred, and anticipated delivery date was today. It was making its way through the system, and I noticed at 8:30 this morning that "Saturday delivery has been requested. / Delivery will be rescheduled for Saturday."

I didn't request this, how is this possible, and do I go to UPS for the refunded shipping or the retailer I purchased from?

EDIT:

Just got off the phone with UPS. They stated that the package is behind schedule, and automatically updated the delivery information with that message, stating that Saturday delivery has been requested. That messaging is counter-intuitive, since neither the sender nor receiver actually requested it. "Delayed in transit" would seem more appropriate. Something's off.
