Help me find correct USB-C plug to purchase and figure out the pinout
***The red & gray wires are broken off the PCB, but I've placed them back where they were soldered*** This is the male USB-C plug from Creative Pebble V2 speakers. The cable is only to power the speakers through a USB-C port. I'm trying to find a suitable replacement USB-C plug with PCB attached like the original one. And I am also trying to understand the pinout. Looks like BLACK is GROUND. I assume RED is the 5V power (is it called VCC or V+ or something like that?). And I can't figure out what the gray wire is. I think the D+ and D- pads are unused in this configuration (since I believe those are for data?) and are the two blank spots between the gray and red wire. Most of the USB-C inline plugs w/ attached PCB that I see only have four pads -- G D+ D- V. This one has five pads. So I'm a bit lost! Help me please so I don't have to throw away perfectly good speakers! Thanks. More on reddit.com

Are all USB pinouts the same?
No. USB pinouts vary significantly based on both the physical connector (Type-A, Micro, Type-C) and the generation (USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0). While core elements like VBUS and GND remain universal, high-speed protocols and modern forms like USB-C add many more pins.
