1. Open the Settings menu on your Samsung device.
  2. Tap on Connections which should be the topmost setting.
  3. Now scroll to the bottom and tap on More connection settings.
  4. Select HDMI mode from the options.
  5. A small window should appear with the HDMI options — Samsung DeX and Screen mirroring.

Select either of the two based on your preference.

Solved: Galaxy Tab S6 Lite not connecting to TV (via USB C - HDMI) - Samsung Community
December 16, 2024 - I finally bought a "Google Chromecast TV" device and it works brilliantly with my TV. I wish I had not bought the Samsung S6 Lite (inaddition to the restriction put in by Samsung its battery life is pathetic). ... @TTS777: I'm not sure that it's possible to screen mirror using a standalone USB C to HDMI cable, as you may require an adapter similar to the one linked below (for reference only, as this is from the US site) https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/mobile-accessories/phones/usb-c-to-hdmi-adapter--black-ee-hg950dbe...

USB-c to HDMI not working on S20FE - Samsung Community
January 9, 2023 - I have been using USB-C to HDMI to connect my phone to an older Samsung TV that doesn't support SmartView without any issues for a while. Recently this stopped working and neither screen mirroring nor Dex works. If I use the same set-up with my old S8 it works just fine, so it can't be the cable.

USB-C to HDMI doesn't work. (using my Samsung as a track pad for my laptop)
Your laptop has an HDMI connection: yes. Your laptop does NOT have an HDMI IN connection. Your laptop has an HDMI OUT connection. Your laptop is not a monitor for external input devices. It doesn’t work because it isn’t designed to work this way. That simply won’t work the way you imagine it will, because you need HDMI IN on the laptop, and you only have an HDMI OUT on the laptop. I’m not sure why everyone isn’t telling you this. If you plug a Google TV or Firestick into your laptop, it will also not work. You have an OUTPUT, not an INPUT. More on reddit.com
