PSA: Don't use Priority Mail Express International
I can confirm OP. USPS International Express Priority Mail (IEPM) is absolute garbage. Never use it ever. I sent an envelope of time sensitive documents to the Philippines that were needed for CRBA interview that was scheduled a month in advance. I've been told that that their 3-6 day promotion wasn't actually true (Hence the * next to the advertisements). The Post office routinely blames customs for this. Knowing this, I mailed on June 24, 2024 which needed to arrive before July 25. By July 1st the tracking still says the package has never left the original post office I handed the envelope to. I've spoken with USPS staff and they all tell me "No sir - we didn't lose your mail. Its still too early to be worried. We are confident everything is on its way" I also made phone calls regarding it to USPS customer service. Although they were very kind and understanding, all I could do was put in search requests and inquiries and wait patiently for response. Panicked by how little time remained, I created a new packet of documents identical to the first. Each packet contained Exemplified court documents, and over 25 notary stamps which cost 10$ each from a public notary. On top of shipping charges - each packet sets me back $350. I mailed the Second package on July 3rd taking time off from work to fill out documents, visit court house, and get notary to have a new packet prepared ASAP. Second envelope arrives in LA on the 7th. Sits there for two days. Leaves LA 9th. Ends up in Tokyo 2 days later. Sits there for a week. Then they put it on a ship to Manila which arrives 5 days later. They put it on a ship again from Manila to the destination city which arrives in 3 days later. Today my wife goes to their post office, asks about the envelope and they told her "Oh, its at the pier. It should be here at the post office sometime this week. Should be here by Wednesday and we can deliver it in a day or two. This will make us miss our appointment. Thankfully the staff there were understanding of our situation that they made special arrangements to search for the envelope at the pier and deliver today. So from July 3 to July 22. That's International Express Priority. Sitting in customs. And being put on ships. So much for being Priority and Express!! As for my first envelope? Its gone. USPS has been unable to locate it. To this day the tracking hasn't moved from the original post office. Although their customer service have been very kind to me over the phone, and very understanding, it doesn't get mail to the destination. They have declared it lost. Now i must go through a long process to get my shipping costs back and claim on the 100$ insurance - which I'm sure they'll fight tooth and nail to not pay out because the notary didn't give me a receipt. TLDR: OP is right. Never use USPS International Express Priority Mail. Its garbage, and 3-6 days is a blatant lie. More like 3-6 weeks. USPS has another option you can try. Global Express Guaranteed (GEG) Which is 2-3 days guaranteed or your money back. Might be alot better. Its twice as expensive and I guess FedEx does all the shipping anyway. More on reddit.com

I thought Priority Mail Express International is supposed to take 3-5 business days to arrive?
International mail, including Express, have been taking around a month to arrive. It usually takes 2-3 weeks just to go through customs. I hope your package moves faster but that’s what my experiences have been with international mail. More on reddit.com

USPS Priority Mail Express International is a Joke: 3 - 5 Days / Took 17 Days
USPS only had this item for the first 3-4 days. That's a bit slow but expected given the holiday. The rest of the journey it was with other carriers and there is nothing the USPS can do about that. More on reddit.com

July 25, 2022 -

There is no benefit to using express vs just plain priority mail for international destinations. It takes just as long. USPS used to have a policy of refunds for late deliveries but they quietly canceled it and are now treating both exactly the same except the "Express" option costs twice as much but still takes 2-3 weeks to deliver (if you're lucky)

Two experiences. January 2020, sent a package that was to go to France. From Austin, TX to Chicago, IL it took 2 days. It sat in the Chicago International distribution center for 3 weeks before moving on. A week later it is scanned in Tokyo Japan. 2 months later it moves on. Arrives in France the following day. Swiftly makes it through customs and is delivered 2 days later. 3 months from Austin, TX to Clermont-Ferrand, France. Last week I mailed a package to France again. This time from Houston, TX. Makes it to Chicago and only sits there for 4 days before departing. I was feeling good about the progress until I got today’s tracking notice. It’s now in India and attempting to clear customs in India. Whaaaat? Fool me twice, but not a third time. Never again. I receive packages from France and they are only 6-10 days in transit.

Express mail in the United States - Wikipedia
July 11, 2025 - The USPS formerly offered a second international express service separate from the EMS network, Global Express Guaranteed (GXG), which involved USPS offices acting as drop locations for international packages which would then be handled by the FedEx international delivery network. In some countries, import rules for packages received by courier services have different tax brackets and duties than parcels received on the postal system, and thus EMS service (Express Mail International) may be preferred over FedEx's co-branded Global Express Guaranteed. The term Priority Mail Express International is distinct from the domestic service called Priority Mail Express, which is a specific classification of mail for domestic accelerated postal delivery within the U.S.
