โโThis release is the result of several months of hard work and testing, and I hope you will find it useful and reliable.
โโWinDiskWriter is designed to work on many versions of macOS, starting with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and ending with the most current โ macOS Sonoma 14.0.
โโAt the moment, WinDiskWriter supports writing the following versions of Microsoft Windows (UEFI, x86_64):

Windows Vista

Windows 7

Windows 8.1

Windows 10

โโOne of the features of WinDiskWriter is that it can prepare the images of Windows Vista and Windows 7 for UEFI booting, even though they do not support it out-of-box. This means that you can install these older versions of Windows on UEFI computers without any problems.
โโWinDiskWriter also handles the issue of writing images that contain the install.wim file, which is larger than 4GB and cannot be stored on FAT32 partitions without modifying the image.
โโWinDiskWriter automatically splits the install.wim file into smaller parts. This way, you can write any version of Windows on any flash drive without worrying about the file system limitations. (splitting large install.esd is not supported at the moment)
โโI will try to add the functionality of writing images for Legacy BIOS systems soon.
โโThe application does not have any external dynamically-linked additional helpers, so its functionality is guaranteed even if you run the application binary file separately.
โโSince WinDiskWriter was written in Objective-C, which is supported from the very first version of Mac OS X, the size of the application is very small, while it contains several architectures (x86_64 and ARM64).
