I've been through the ringer with the grey market key sites. Had lots of issues with the keys working but then they'd get deactivated all of a sudden. So I went down a bit of a rabbit hole. From what I learned, you want to make sure the key you get is Retail and not OEM. These OEM keys are so cheap but they actually aren't supposed to be sold. They are for the manufacturer to put on their computers. You can still get a Retail key pretty cheap though. I use DigitalChillMart now, they're the only site pretty much that will sell you a Retail key for a reasonable price. Answer from Notsonicepotato on reddit.com

It’s an open source MAS script on GitHub (Microsoft owned btw). Yes, it is piracy, but so are the key resellers giving licenses for $20. The only official way to get windows free is an education or business license offered by your school or workplace. From everything I’ve seen, Microsoft really doesn’t care how you get windows as long as they keep making money from people buying the $140 licenses. There’s even some anecdotal evidence to suggest Microsoft support has used the MAS script in order to activate windows where for whatever reason it wasn’t working or wasn’t available. Hey everyone, I recently bought a new PC from a local store, but they didn't provide a Windows 11 Pro activation key. Windows 11 Pro is already installed, but it's asking for activation, and I want to activate it properly.
I'm looking for a legitimate source to buy a Windows 11 Pro key—no sketchy tools or unauthorized sites like Massgrave (as some subreddits suggest). I'd prefer an affordable yet official option (maybe OEM or retail, as long as it's legal and safe).

Did someone else advised you to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro? Is this the key that you have used (VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T) to have Windows 11 Pro? If that is the one then it is a generic retail key that can activate Windows 10/11 Pro but you need to have the digital entitlement associate on your account if this was purchased via the Microsoft Store.
Is Windows 11 Home pre-installed on your PC or you have bought a product key to install it?

If you were given a product key of VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T then this is a generic retail key to activate Windows 10/11 Pro but it will not be completely activated if there is no digital entitlement that is associated on your account. It is not messed up if you were with dealing directly with Microsoft Support and if they have provided you with the digital entitlement of Windows 11 Pro.
