AI website builder (wix)- worth using?

I would not use Wix for anything. If you want easy, use Carrrd for a simple site. If you're ecommerce and have any budget, use Shopify. If you want custom, use WordPress. Almost every one of these builders have major drawbacks, big issues when it comes to SEO, and gouge users with basic website stuff to boost their revenue. More on reddit.com

If it meets the needs of the client, why not? Now if someone is a web dev that only does Wix sites, that's a little weird, but Wix makes websites available to small companies that can't afford to build and maintain something more custom. More on reddit.com

Just launched my first Wix site: My review of the experience.

I tried using Wix and honestly hated the whole experience. I only needed a simple, clean site, but everything felt heavier than it should be, too many settings, too many panels, and I kept getting stuck fixing layout issues instead of actually building anything. At some point I just gave up because it felt like more work than it was worth. I moved to Durable instead and it fit me way better because it's easy to use. More on reddit.com

Do me a solid and point me in the right direction. I just watched a wix tutorial and it looks pretty simple to use. I heard weird press is pretty difficult, oh and there's framer. What do I do?

Find your customers first. Find out what your customers want. Once you understand what your customers are demanding then you can choose which tool suits your customers needs. Spending time to learn a tool before you have customers is a waste of time.

I would not use Wix for anything. If you want easy, use Carrrd for a simple site. If you're ecommerce and have any budget, use Shopify. If you want custom, use WordPress. Almost every one of these builders have major drawbacks, big issues when it comes to SEO, and gouge users with basic website stuff to boost their revenue.

I stay away from closed-source platforms like WIX because they are hard to scale. Look into Wordpress, much better. If you need AI because you are too lazy to design yourself, check out Relume. In terms of building the website, use a page builder like Elementor. Here is a guide if you want to give Wordpress a shot. It has a little tip on how you can build faster using Skelementor. We're snobs. Wix / Squarespace / basic wordpress - whatever flavour of simple, brochure-type info websites: it's likely the perfect fit for most small businesses. I'll happily recommend them when it's an appropriate option. We just like to think that every website needs complex infrastructure, deep business logic, ecommerce, fancy animations/interactions ...and should cost $10k to build. ;)
