Cherry mid-century modern end table for a friend. Took many months, because of laziness, but I couldn’t be more proud.
First time joining boards together, and I don’t have a table saw, jointer or a planer. I ended up squaring up the side edges with a trim router and a flush trim bit. Surprisingly it worked pretty well. Extremely tedious, but it’s an option for smaller projects. Also messed up on a rabbet joint in the lower corner by making it too wide, but “fixed” it by gluing back in a strip of scrap cherry and re-rabbeting the edge so I didn’t have to start over. Just overall a lot of work but learned so many new things along the way.

Mid Century End Table
Mid Century Modern side table, finally got a chance to complete a piece of furniture in my new shop!
Really nice work. Clean layout and joins. Loving the throwback design - all too few mid century modern designs or my own favorite - art deco designs. Question about the profile, with that beveled front and the slide in shelf. I would have expected the shelf to slide in from behind so that the dado could stop shy of the bevel and that line stay true around the entire front?
