Forgot Your YouTube Password? Here’s How to Get It Back
September 3, 2025 - Seeing the password on Android phones, however, is a completely different story. youtube - Why won't log in with yt-dlp on Windows with username and password and won't log in with cookies? - Super User
Either fixes are needed, or there is some other information on options that also need to be included that is completely missing from the documentation and help files. If, in fact, --username and --password are not actually expected to work with YouTube there should be a clear statement so people won't waste time and effort trying to use an option that is known not to work. There apparently needs to be a lot more work done on --cookies-from-browser. It did not work properly for me on two versions of Firefox, and did not work on any Chrome-based browser I have.
