You season 2 - what happened to this series?
Same! The female character was unlikeable from the get-go. I could not empathize with her that I wanted her to be murdered right away. I did not understand how Joe, who is supposed to be a sociopath who obsesses over women he can’t easily have, would fall for a girl like Love who keeps throwing herself at him.

It was such a change from the first season. This made no sense, almost all the characters were so unlikeable and nonsensical with lots of over-acting. Am I the only one who hated it this much? I still like Joe as a character but I hope they can salvage him in the next season.
Edited to add: I’m just saying compared to the previous season this wasn’t nearly as interesting or thrilling. He didn’t do much of his usual stocking as he did with Beck. The most he did seemed very preliminary just to land the job. She basically did all the work for him. He didn’t even realize Forty was her twin. The mystery of Delilah’s murder was probably the most interesting part of the whole season.

You are in the minority if you visit r/YouOnLifetime you can see fans are loving the second season and are analyse the ending in detail.
Very extreme title to grab your attention but I quite frankly do not understand why s2 seems to be so universally loved. I could be missing something but in my eyes there was a drastic drop in quality from s1 to s2, which makes the fact that people frequently rank this as the best season unbelievable to me. The season definitely has some good qualities but in my eyes Joe goes on way too many sidequests, the episodes are unfocused and a mess compared to s1, and the main plotline of the run from Candace and the pursuit of Love Quinn feel underbaked.
Candace only appears in half of the episodes and does not feel like a real threat throughout the entire season. Joe also seems far less devoted to Love from the start, as he is more often than not busy with either Forty or Ellie or Delilah Will Henderson Candace you name it. Which makes the fact that Joe and Love say ‘I wolf you’ to each other halfway through the season, whereas it took Joe and Beck until episode 9 previously, feel like much weaker writing.
Another thing that I don’t understand is how people can site Love Quinn as the reason they love s2 but then hate on the season where she’s written most strongly. Love Quinn is at her peak in s3 where she hasn’t just taken off her mask, but has also received much better characterization and plot lines. she is so much more sarcastic, snarky, judgmental and outspoken in this season which feels more like the true version of Love Quinn. It makes pre-reveal Love look boring and irrelevant by comparison.
This is not to insult anyone’s opinion, I am just genuinely vexed because to me it just doesn’t look like s2 has much to offer. Please feel free to enlighten me in the replies because I am genuinely wondering if there is something that I’m missing.
No spoilers! I just finished season one and liked it and I’m like 20 minutes into season 2 episode one and I’m not liking it so far.. I think I just miss beck
