New 1Password user coming from Lastpass. I have been using Google Chrome browser on my iPhone instead of Safari. I just realized that Apple does not allow browser extensions on Chrome for IOS. With 1Password it doesn’t give the suggestions when creating or updating the password field and it seems very limited. Also I can’t figure out how to easily generate passwords when needed on IOS. All that seems to work fine on Windows 11 with Chrome, but not from the iPhone. Am I missing something? Thanks for helping

Yeah, you've hit upon why the 1Password experience on iOS for Chrome is unfortunately worse than it is with Safari; they can only operate within the limitations Apple sets up for developers. Of course a possible solution is to switch to using Safari, but if you want to stick with Chrome you can still use 1Password—it is limited, but you can still do the important things, autofill passwords, create new logins, and generate new passwords saved in 1Password: Make sure you have iOS's AutoFill feature setup to use 1Password as an AutoFill source (and ideally the only source.) That's where you'll see logins suggested just above the keyboard, or tap on the 🔑 icon to bring up a 1Password screen. When you need to create a new login/generate a new password, you'll start in 1Password. When you're on a website's signup page, tap that 🔑 icon to bring up 1Password, tap the + symbol to create a new login, enter a username, generate a new password, and then hit Save & Fill. The new login gets saved right into your 1Password, and the website's signup form gets filled with the username and password you just generated for you to then finish the account signup.

I’m running iOS 14.0, (the real final but previously I ran the beta versions). I’m running the newest version of chrome, that allows default browser switching, but I have not been able to get 1password to work the way it does in Safari and other apps. The instructions for enabling it are old and don’t seem to match the current UI.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Follow up, I just realized it works fine on my iPad with 14.0 and the latest chrome. Seems to be just on my iPhone. Essentially the “passwords” button just isn’t there
2nd update and now as if I was imagining it, it’s also gone on chrome on iPad OS.

Sorry for the trouble here — as far as I'm aware, Autofill should work in Chrome. Which instructions are you following?
