Hey u/JustSomeGuy_56 Within both our desktop apps and browser extensions you can get to the password generator by creating a new item type such as a login, or password. Here's a quick getting started guide on 1Password for Windows that might help steer you in the right direction: https://support.1password.com/getting-started-windows/#create-and-edit-items PS: There's also a standalone password generator within the browser extension you can find by clicking the the ☰ button as shown in the screenshot below, and then selecting "Password Generator" Answer from 1PasswordCS-Blake on reddit.com

A Secure, Strong Password Generator | 1Password
Humans aren’t very good at coming up with passwords that are either of those things, let alone both. So we created the 1Password Strong Password Generator tool to create secure, complex passwords – including ones that combine upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

OK I give up. Where did theyhide the password generator? The nice little function that would generate a random password based on criteria? I have both the Windows App and the browser extension and can't find it on either.

More on reddit.comHow safe is the 1password password generator?
Like most great things, it starts with a recipe of sorts: cryptographically secure number generation, randomness, uniformity (and a teaspoon of modulo-magic). 1Password uses these ingredients to auto-generate unique passwords for you. Source - https://1password.com/password-generator/ Basically, yeah its safe and youre doing the right thing by changing all your passwords to generated ones - only time i use the word generator is when i know im going to have to enter it on an annoying device (e.g a TV with the remote) More on reddit.com
