r/1Password on Reddit: struggling to find generated password history
October 23, 2020 -

I think, somehow, that when i tried logging into a certain website, where i had already registered an account and saved the login to 1password, my already existing login didnt appear, but the generate password function did. So i think maybe ive generated a new password without saving it. Atleast my saved password doesnt seem to be working.

So i found this: https://support.1password.com/recover-unsaved-password/#step-1-find-the-password and it says there is a generator history, but i cant seem to find/understand how to find it.

Why is there no password generated history in the iOS app? Seems like a no brainer feature, can’t tell you how many times I’ve had users generate a pw on their phone and forget to save it. 1Password Version: Not Provided Extension Version: Not Provided OS Version: Not Provided Browser: Not Provided

When I searched within the 1Password app on my Mac, there was *no menu option* to look at generated passwords at all. I confirmed the same behavior on my iPhone and within the 1Password browser extension.

Password Generator History? — 1Password Community
January 26, 2018 - Step 5 sounds out of place, there isn't any X in the window that the Password Generator appears in. Step 6 you'd have better luck sorting the password list by last modified, as search won't search the contents of the password fields themselves. ... @Sutherlandon: I was pretty sure to begin with, but I did test it to be certain before I replied to you earlier: 1Password saves a Password item when selecting the generated password and pressing ⌘ C here too.

Generated passwords / passphrases: only list and store copied / "used" one's in the generator history - Password Manager - Bitwarden Community Forums
March 31, 2025 - Hi, In 1Password, only generated passwords that you’ve actually copied are stored in the history. Bitwarden simply saves every generated password there, even if you’ve only opened it once. This really annoys me. I would be happy if BW only stored the generated passwords that you’ve actually copied there.

r/1Password on Reddit: Generated Passwords missing
May 16, 2020 -

I keep losing Generated passwords on many new websites. I use the icon and generate password but it doesn't get saved to a login in 1Password.

What is the correct process to find the password that is generated? I found in Support that there is a "Password" Category that stores the generated passwords so you can manually create a login, but I cant find this in the app.

Please help.

Thanks,
