My TV randomly died tonight. Planning to buy a replacement from because I’ve heard they have a better than normal warranty, but I know nothing about TVs. What’s the best bang for your buck 55” TV from Costco?

r/4kTV on Reddit: Which 43" TV would you buy on Costco.com Right Now
December 4, 2021 -

Hello,

I am looking to buy a 43" TV for my garage and I wanted to get some opinions regarding the lineup available at Costco 43” TVs. I love Costco's customer service and return policy, so I am hoping one of these TVs would be serviceable for my garage. I actually bought the Hisense TV - twice - the first one had a dead pixel and now the second one has blown out speakers. As you would guess, I am kind of giving up on that brand for now.

I think I am between the Samsung or LG model available. I would appreciate any insight on these TVs. Doesn't need to be the world's fanciest TV, but something good for watching sports (NFL) would be particularly good. It seems like the Samsung might be the overall better model but the LG may have a brighter screen.

Thanks!

r/4kTV on Reddit: Which Costco TV would you pick right now for your new home?
September 12, 2024 -

I just moved into a new house and am looking for a new TV. I want to buy from Costco for the warrant(y/ies) and for the cash back.

I’m struggling with what to pick. Size wise I think 75 or 77 would be great, or ~80. I am in between LG (C3, C4, B4, QNED85/90) and Sony (Bravia 7/8, X90CL).

Budget is ≤$2500. Ideally under $2000, but less than $3000 is the plan.

I watch a lot of sports, shows, and movies, and game. However, this might not be my gaming TV -- so that part isn't super important.

I know enough to not get anything like the UR or UT series, but I am still very conflicted on what to get. I've been heavily reviewing and comparing, checking rtings.com, etc., but still can't make up my mind!

What would you suggest, or what would you pick? Please and thank you very much.

edits: room will be dark mainly, but also could have some lights; viewing angles won't be extreme; i will be setting up excellent surround audio, and it will certainly be getting a lot of use.

The video on TVs for sale at Costco, best Buy et al are so rich and vivid. Has it been enhanced in any way? - Quora
Answer (1 of 2): No and yes. Firstly the materials being shown is going to be DVD quality at least, more often HD and becoming more frequent now a days 4k resolution. This by itself accounts for about 90% of the richness of the image being displayed.

I know nothing about TVs at all. I want something between 45”-55”. Budget is as cheap as possible, but willing to spend a little more so it’s not totally bottom tier quality. Budget is $400ish.

For what it’s worth, I have pretty bad eyesight so I don’t notice the nuances of clarity as much as some may. The TV will be in a room with two decently sized windows in case that makes difference. I just want something reliable / long lasting that doesn’t crash or get mega slow.

The only two TVs I have experience with are my previous roommates’ TVs - a Hisense Roku which just got slower and slower over time and crashed every 20 minutes, and a Toshiba Amazon Fire TV which also had a tendency to be slow, but was a bit better than the Hisense Roku. I definitely won’t trust Hisense again. I think both were purchased at Walmart.

Many people in my extended family have the LG OLED series and I understand these are top tier, but I just don’t have that budget.

So here I am to ask Reddit - what’s the best budget TV in my size and price range available at Costco in the SoCal region? They all have meh reviews, and I’m so lost!

Edit: typo and also adding that I am moving out so I have to get my own TV - I don’t have one of my own

UPDATE: I am soo torn about my decision. 90% of sources are telling me TCL is the way to go, specifically the TCL 55" Class - Q77K Series - 4K UHD QLED Smart TV. In the store, looking at the screens, I saw no huge difference in glare / lighting between this model and the LG 55" Class - UA7700 Series - 4K UHD Smart TV.

I almost got the TCL because it is better reviewed on RTings and everyone here loves TCL, but my line of work is in legal tech / infosec and we are strongly advised against getting softwares with known “spy” issues, such as Roku and companies partially owned by Chinese state such as TCL.

So, I went with the LG even though it was only $10 cheaper and not as highly reviewed as the TCL. I’m having a little remorse and considering an exchange if I can figure out how to use a Raspberry PI for security purposes, haha. Even the TV guy at Costco recommended the LG TV to me, he said he just trusts the brand more. I’ll let you guys know if I make the exchange! Also, regardless of the brand, data security should be everyone’s concern!

My friend is looking to finally replace her CRT tv, lol. Currently she uses a Roku external adapter, uses You Tube TV as her main source, and watches some Netflix, and streams thru Plex. She's a senior and hates technology (which is why she still has a CRT) so something fairly simple to use that will easily support her 3 apps is what she needs. I don't use tv's at all (stream everything on big monitors) so I can't advise her very well. She doesn't want to spend a lot but the budget Hisense/Samsung/LG tvs are all around the same price. which one will work best with Plex? I don't think they have the roku interface, so which is better for OS in terms of simplicity and lack of lag? Because of her furniture layout, a wider viewing angle would also be better. TIA for any help or info.

Hi Costco fans. I'm thinking about getting a new TV and seeing all the holiday deals that started this week. What is the best TV under $1000 in your opinion? I currently have Samsung and familiar with their user interface but wondering how they compare to LG?

And also is the size increase between a 65 and 75" worth 40-60% more money?

Here are some options -what is best and WHY? Looking for around 70" LCD 4k tv.

Basically they are the same models of each brand, with different sizes.

SAMSUNG

Samsung 65" - CU7000D - $429 (Black Friday price) - https://www.costco.com/.product.4000149550.html

Samsung 75" - CU7000D - $649 - https://www.costco.com/.product.4000149576.html

==========

LG

LG 65" - UR8000 - $449 (Black Friday price) - https://www.costco.com/.product.4000153847.html

LG 75" - UR8000 - $579 (Black Friday price) - https://www.costco.com/.product.100971047.html

Currently I have a 10 year old Samsung 50" that I got at Costco.
