I bought these AirPod Pro’s from Costco (Canada) a couple of years ago and they looked brand new (box had the plastic wrap, had the pamphlets). I just found out they’re fake though. They have a correct serial number but they are definitely fake.

How could this happen? Is this a return scam? Do you think Costco will help me even though it’s been so long?

August 31, 2023 -

Just took delivery of my AirPods Pro from Costco, and the pull tabs looked a little strange, almost like they weren’t centered on the seam.

The bottom one was still sealed, but as you can see the top one was not. The packaging on the inside looks legit though and there is no plastic missing from there. And the serial number checks out. Am I all good?

It seems that multiple retailers are lowering the price of the AirPods Pro 2. Is this a Black Friday sale thing or is it a sign that Apple may release the AirPods Pro 3? I was pretty shocked that they didn’t update them this year.

I bought the Pro 3 during a recent Amazon sale but I just saw Costco has them (full price) with apparently 2 years of AppleCare included.

I’m relatively new to the Apple ecosystem and didn’t realize the warranty coverage differed like this… does anyone know what I get with just a “regular” purchase somewhere like Amazon versus what Costco offers?

Would it be a good idea to return mine and get the Costco ones solely due to the extended warranty?

r/airpods on Reddit: Airpods return policy - Costco vs Best Buy
November 15, 2024 -

Hi everyone,

I just picked up the airpods from Best Buy and was told that I cannot return if the box is opened due to hygiene. Although I understand this, I was quite surprised because many ppl here have mentioned that you can return.

Wondering if anyone knows if this is the same for Costco. Maybe I should return and buy it at Costco instead?

Thanks!

r/Costco on Reddit: Anyone have experience with AirPod Pros from the Co?
December 3, 2021 -

Does anyone have experience with purchasing AirPod pros from Costco? I am on my fourth set in 2 years, direct from Apple and I am tired of having to go to the Apple store and wait when issues come up. My first set I used to death and bought my second set as the battery no longer lasted longer than an hour on the first set. . The second set, I used for less than a month before I had to exchange them because the crackling noise was killing me. The third set, same thing. Now I’m on my fourth set and although I’ve had them for less than a year, they are starting to give me issues as well. I thought about just abandoning pros all together, but when they work there, they are the best I’ve tried out there (recommendations welcomed). I know Costco has an amazing return policy, and was wondering if it would just be easier to go this route, or if it was still required to get AppleCare. I wasn’t sure if AirPods are excluded in their return policy. Anyone have experience?

I’m going to get a pair of 4 ANC at Costco for $119. My question is if AppleCare is really needed considering Costco’s liberal return policy. For the sake of this discussion let’s all agree that the AirPods don’t fall under the Costco 90 day electronics return policy. This being the case, what would I gain with AppleCare rather than just doing a return to Costco should something go wrong?
