Is it possible to send the code to my email, print it off, and then have the recipient of the gift card redeem the code on their account, or will the gift card balance be automatically sent to my account since I’m sending it to same email that I use for my account? Also, do you get the code emailed to you instantly, or do you have to wait a day or two to receive it? Answers to these questions are greatly appreciated.

An online friend sent a screenshot of a gift card email with the code at the bottom. They asked me to

But wondering, if I redeem the gift card- will it tell them who, what I bought, where I shipped it to? (I use a friends amazon prime hence why I’m hesitant as I don’t want to leak their info)

& could they turn around and say someone fraudulently redeemed the gift card and the money taken from the account? Is there any way for them to get access to my amazon account or any of its info, by me redeeming this gift card?

I got an email about an hour ago telling me I received a $20 USD Amazon gift card from something called MarketCube but I was emailed and sent the code by a Virtual Reward Center. I clicked the link and was able to redeem it and it went into my Amazon account just fine but now I'm worried since I have no idea where/why I received it. Hi, first time posting. My children received Amazon vouchers for Christmas from my brother. They were purchased in Tesco. When I went to peel off the strip to reveal the code the strip didn’t come off and lifted the code off on the underside of the strip so it’s unreadable. Tried with the second voucher and same thing.

I’m really careful with these vouchers but I think the issue is they are made of paper now rather than plastic.

I’ve asked brother for the gift card receipts which he has sent on text (we live 2 hours away and won’t see him anytime soon).

I’m going to go to Tescos fully expecting them to say can’t do anything but where do I stand legally.

I see many subs like r/giftcardexchange , r/GCTrading etc. where Amazon gift cards are sold at 85% or even 80% of face value (depending if asking paypal or cryptocurrencies.)

These seem to be honest sellers, as they have good reputations and do not run away with the money without providing the gift card codes.

However my concern is where do all those gift cards come from? Could they be stolen or somehow fraud be involved in those? Is there a risk of buying from those sellers even if they do actually send you the gift card codes?

Say someone put in a bunch of random letters and numbers hoping by chance to guess the code of an existing gift card that they don't actually have, and it turned out to be a valid code. Is anything stopping them from going ahead and using it for themselves?

For example if someone else buys it and then tries to redeem it, they wouldn't be able to, so what options would be at their disposal?

Who would investigate something like that, the bank or the company?

As the title said I bought a gift card (gets me fuel points at Kroger) and when I took off the "peel off" gray cover the last few digits were unreadable.

Ok... mistakes in manufacturing do happen... no big deal. Check Amazon and am told to call for help to redeem.

First try: Get a rep and he asks for basic account info, where card was purchased and amount. Get left on hold for 30 mins.

I hang up....

Second try: get a different rep and she asks for basic account info and the serial number on the card and the code on it I can read. Asks amount on it and verifies balance. Applies it to account for me. Easy peasy and took less than 5 mins.

Amazing the difference in customer service. Left appropriate feedback on both emails received from reps... Hopefully this gets Mr. Leave-on-hold the bad numbers he needs to get some corrective action. All big companies love metric data don't they?

Either way just a small rent to get this off my chest.
