Do I need to have an Amazon account to redeem a gift card?
Yes, you'll need an Amazon account to make any purchase on Amazon, whether you're using a gift card or not.
I can't see the entire code on the gift card — what do I do?
In that case, you'd have to contact Amazon for help. You'll have to provide the 16- or 30-digit serial number of the card, your order number (if you know it), the purchaser's name, the recipient's name, and the email address or physical address where the gift card was sent.

I purchase a batch of gift cards and redeem them slowly as needed. I can't tell you why we do it this way but we've just been doing it this way for years now without issues.
We keep gift cards in their originally packaging. They're usually in a clear plastic bag, and then the paper envelope holding the gift card.
I went to redeem 3 of these cards. 2 of them had no issues. The 3rd kept telling me it was already used. I had just opened the plastic bag, taken the card out, and pulled the code cover sticker. I tried using both my phone app to read the code and website manually putting in the numbers/letters
I've been talking to support but they just tell me it's been redeemed. One was asking me who redeemed it (the name of the person), and I told them all possible names who could've redeemed it (all family) and they said none of those people.
Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how was it resolved?

Edit:
Gift cards were purchased from amazon website. Their default "Amazon.com Gift Card in a Mini Envelope"
How do i use the US amazon e-gift card for an amazon purchase on Amazon CA.
I tried redeeming it in amazon.ca website, but it says i have to redeem in amazon.com (US site).
Does anyone know of a work around? I was thinking of buying a vanilla visa egiftcard, and then using that to rebuy an amazon giftcard. Would maybe lose 10 to 20 in fees i think?
Please let me know if anyone has a way to work around this.
Edit to add - items im hoping to get are bed frames and night stand - not small items which so fsr havent found any decent ones that can ship to canada and that too if i did find any that do I'll probably pay large amts in customs. For those who might ask why dont i just buy it here in canada - yes i could but I have like $800 in US giftcard and would prefer to furnish my apt for free than pay here
