r/amazon on Reddit: Order not showing up under recent orders??
July 12, 2016 -

Hi r/Amazon! I recently purchased a notebook, it wasn't from Amazon but from a seller on Amazon. I got the confirmation email, and the money came out of my bank account so I assumed everything was normal. I usually use the app, and when I went to the "orders" tab, it wasn't showing up. I then went to my browser and it showed up when I went that route. It was fine for a few days, but now it's not showing up in my browser either! It's like there's no trace of me ordering it on Amazon, just in my email and bank account.

Am I looking in the wrong place or something? Should I contact amazon??

Just a potential fix: you might be in the Amazon of other country, (the Amazon app also changes country sometimes though it asks you), you need to set the country back to the one where you purchased it and that would be it. You may do this by going to your email and click track the shipment of the product you bought

Add me to the growing list encountering this as well. I did my family's Christmas shopping last night and ordered over $600 worth of toys using my Amazon credit card to get the 12 months special financing. I received the confirmation email after the order was placed with order numbers for each shipment. I checked my order history last night before logging out and it showed all my family's toys as expected. Fast forward to this morning and I wake up to an account-alerts email from Amazon saying they detected suspicious activity on my account about 15 minutes after the order was placed and they reversed any recent account changes, cancelled all recent orders, assigned a temporary password, and that I'll need to change it upon logging in again. They also recommend I add two-factor authentication (2FA) to help protect my account. But I already have 2FA enabled on my account; apparently whatever systems they have in place to detect and prevent fraud doesn't verify whether an account already has 2FA enabled. I log in this morning, change my password, and check my order history: none of the toys I ordered last night are showing up in my recent orders. I clicked the "Cancelled Orders" link in the top right and they don't show up there either. It's like my order just vanished; not in my history but not cancelled either. My Amazon account shows no record of me ever placing the order despite having received a confirmation email with all the details. I logged into my Amazon credit card account (Synchrony Bank) and it shows three charges: one for a single dollar which I'm assuming is a temporary hold, and two others totaling about half the total order. So apparently some of the charges went through; not sure if they'll make it all the way to posting but it at least showing pending as of now. I also received an email that one of the toys I order has already shipped out. The email gives me a tracking link to click but all it does is redirect to my Amazon account to view it in my order history which currently shows nothing so I have no way to track it. I chatted with a support agent earlier and he didn't give much information other than he said the suspicious activity email was "a glitch" and he did in fact see my orders in their system and they're supposed to be deliver in the upcoming days. I guess I'll wait and see. It's frustrating not being able to see what I ordered or be able to track anything, all while my credit card is being charged. UPDATE: Well, after 15 days, I finally have an update. It seems my Amazon account was suspended or something due to the alleged "fraudulent" activity despite there being no actual fraud taking place but it really wasn't a suspension as I could still do most normal things on my account. I received an email from Amazon saying my account had been reinstated and to "thank me for letting them know about my cancelled items." I'm not sure what they're talking about as I haven't contacted anyone at Amazon about my account status. Upon logging in today (Dec 31, 2023), my orders page now appears correct with all my previously purchased Christmas items appearing in the list. While nice, it's a bit useless now as all my items did eventually deliver and my credit card was charged so in the end it all worked out but I was still in the dark throughout the whole ordeal. So I'm guessing Amazon "suspended" my account when it detected fraud but still let me log in, view previous orders, place new orders (I bought gift cards for family during this time), change account settings, and chat with Amazon reps about order status? Doesn't sound like a suspension to me, but whatever. FYI for anyone googling who ends up reading this.

How Amazon helps you save money on your shopping orders
September 26, 2025 - Amazon and independent sellers in our store work hard to offer everyday low prices across our wide selection of hundreds of millions of products—more than 60% of items sold in Amazon’s store come from independent sellers, and sellers worldwide offered customers competitive prices plus tens of billions of dollars in savings with deals and coupons in 2024. An analysis has named Amazon the lowest-priced U.S. retailer every year since 2017, with online prices that were an average of 14% less expensive than all major U.S.
